buy now or wait the 2019 model?

10K miles on mine, daily driven, multiple spirited canyon drives, AZ heat, no issues with the car save the paint. I did add an Oil Catch Can as preventative as i know id be pushing the car on regular basis.

Ultimately i am going with repurchase of the yellow, as in principle, i cannot accept the partial solution they offered. I would heavily consider a 2019 based on the color options available. No Yellow so thats a big strike in my book. Have not heard whether Deep Chroma Blue will be avail in the US yet.

Id also consider another 2018 given the price deals to be had. however, i am not 100% confident that paint issues would also not show up on another 2018, regardless of build date.

Sounds horrible, the issues not the loaner haha I would love to hear how you think the Stinger stacks up against the Ghibli and Giulia if you get a chance!

I drove the Gulia. Too light, it felt like a toy. Yeah it can handle great but just doesn't feel substantial enough to give that feeling of being grounded.

Yeah, it's a shame. I really want to keep it, but it left me stranded for two hours in September waiting for a tow truck on the way home from a road trip, and I barely made it home from my last road trip in October. Been in the shop for weeks at a time. Fuel pump, electronic throttle, starter, and other issues. They've had it a week this time, still working on it. But I am driving a Maserati Ghibli as a loaner, so that's a treat!
What a bummer...

Wow! Me too. I am going to predict that the Stinger's total time in the shop for genuine breakdown issues will be small to nil by comparison.

I have an October 2017 build date. I got the car 2 weeks after it was released. It was a mistake. I have had mostly minor issues but I am fairly certain my LSD is having issues now and I am having paint failing on my car which is red, not yellow. I’ve requested a buyback from Kia and just retained an attorney. But I wouldn’t hesitate to get a 2019 assuming the paint issues have been resolved. I told Kia I’d be willing to accept a 2019 GT2 assuming paint issues have been resolved. They were going to look into it and get back to me.

So I’d recommend the 2019. But perhaps some of the later build dates in 2018 would be okay, but can’t speak to those. It is a GREAT car. Definitely more reliable than the 2017 Giulia.
