• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Buy a MY18 Stinger now or Wait for the MY19 in September ?

Thanks for the bimodal manual. The way I'm reading it is, as soon as you hit 70% throttle you get 'mad max' noises... except when in Eco mode. My neighbours thank you in advance too. I would never have used Eco mode otherwise.

The exhaust is open in all modes except custom eco and custom comfort at idle. So like you; I put the stinger in acc, select custom mode, and the bimodal exhaust is slightly muted/closed then what it would normally be for the neighbour's sake. When I get close to home then I switch back to custom again while parking.

The stinger still starts with a growl irrespective before reverting to a warmed up meow waiting to be unleashed as a roar... The roar could always be louder though. :)

I haven't hit 70% throttle until I reach 1000 kms... Hit 740 kms today and I've had the stinger for less than week.

Much fun.

Same here, no puddle lights - at least not like the ones the American's seem to have. There is a light on the mirrors facing downwards and a door handle light. By all accounts, the 'puddle lights' are actually sold as an accessory ($300 plus install).

I wrote a cranky email to Kia asking why Dealers were selling cars without all the features advertised. Hopefully, they will resolve the issues by installing all the parts I paid for. I'll let you know how I go.

By the way, how does this bimodal exhaust work? I didn't get any paperwork with it and I didn't get a hand-over from the dealer. A Toyota car salesman handed me my keys and wished me luck... so I'm not sure how the bloody thing works.
From the Kia Au website

It refers to puddle lamps. The lights in the mirrors & door handles are welcome lights or at least that’s what they’re called on mine. If they refer to it on the website they have to sell it.
Which dealership did you get it from?

MY19 owner ... Day 3 ... ambient lighting is fully lit! Not sure how they managed to have that passenger side dash line sort of disappear and fade out at either ends but it is really cool. It remains my favorite feature of the week (1st week of ownership). The violet colour is so ... like the been thrown into a time machine and reliving my glory days under the black light at the local nightclub. Has that white purple glow to it.

Yeah it’s cool, am running red. I wish they had ambient lighting in the rear.
