My thoughts and prayers go out to all you Aussies affected by this. I've been doing some reading on this and it sounds terrible.
What is with your clock? You said 4:24 PM and it shows 21:19 (9:19 PM); and the date is totally whacked.....update at "The Heights" as at 4.24pm. Temp gauge on the south side of the house in heavy shade. Bottom temp outside, top reading inside with AC on full.View attachment 36223
For our international friends this an outer suburb of Sydney not the out back or bush. I know I might get shot down with this FACT locally but every 3 years or so when the conditions are bad we are the hotest place in NSW. Our location similar to LA is we have a mountain range behind us and this traps the heat below. We are at the bottom.
Damn Greenies !!! if people were allowed to clear their land and cut down trees that pose a danger it might not have been so bad.
I must be psychic I just knew someone would pick the bloody thing apartWhat is with your clock? You said 4:24 PM and it shows 21:19 (9:19 PM); and the date is totally whacked.(what's that weird symbol under "DAY"? moon phase off; then how can you trust what the thermometer reads?)
Sorry to see Kangaroo island copped it also the loss of life, the community must be devastedYeah...it's the Greenies...definitely not the owners of properties who, despite every fire season being told to get a fire action plan in place, clear gutters and vegetation away from their buildings still do nothing because they like a bit of shade round the BBQ. I go up into the Adelaide Hills all the time to work on automatic weather stations and rain gauges for the BoM, the amount of leaf litter and piles of shit I see leaning up against walls is ridiculous, people never learn till all their shit goes up in flames.
And to the politicians? Stop turning up at disaster sites for a camera op, you're not doing any good, stay in Canberra and do your job from there.
49 deg C = 120 deg F. That is insane. Death Valley type heat. No thank you.I must be psychic I just knew someone would pick the bloody thing apartNo I haven't set any of the other settings the thermometer is all that I read.My house is full of other clocks. Moon settings I couldn't care about or any other bits. I have a digital clock right next to it. I also have many other temp reading instruments 9 all up ,the one I've shown you I consider to be the most accurate.
All other devices read Roof, under house, sunroom, undercarport, bedroom, lounge, front of house back of house.
I used this one to show as it is facing South uneffected by heat transfer from building , is in shade and is set and the meteorological correct height of 1.5. metres.
Ps we can still be friends![]()

I love that song , it’s so poignant as to what Australia is and when I first watched it on Facebook I shed some tearsThat was a nice tribute video, as you mentioned, showing some Heartbreaking and Heartwarming images, the image of the man holding the Koala was in today's Herald-Sun newspaper, as was many other images.
Is there a song on that video, I have no sound while watching the video, and I checked all my volume controls, which are up the loudest, not sure why I have no sound..? and Yes, the volume on the video itself..still no sound.I love that song , it’s so poignant as to what Australia is and when I first watched it on Facebook I shed some tears
