Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

I'm finding it difficult now to keep the tires from spinning on my rwd on map 2. If I try a different map where i can control the boost and lower it in first gear am I still going to have the ecu protections that I get in map 1 and 2
Make sure you are using v12 and just use the boost by gear feature under “user adjustment settings”. Set “Max boost 1st” to 4.0 or 5.0 and see if that helps.

Will do thanks. Just so I understand is that setting my max boost to stock plus 4 or plus 5 for first gear?

Boost by gear setting is how much LESS boost you want in the gears. If you're usually running 15 psi and you set boost by gear to 2 psi, you will run 13 psi for that specific gear.

So I updated to v12beta and it seems to be less strain on the trans and smoother but it also feels like it lost its punch. I have to do some logging.

Log will show us how it's running! Should be just as punchy unless you're pulling boost.

Looks good. Didn't pull it all the way but it's still boosting. Maybe it's just the way the gears are pulling now. Comfort mode feels a lot better and it does not have that delay with the boost anymore when it switches to a lower gear.

Looks OK to me!

Terry can you take a look at these Firmware V12 logs? 91 octane with secondary downpipe, catback and CAI. OK to stay with map 2? Feels good, smoother than the previous firmware for what it's worth. Thanks.

Pretty big trim variance here, maybe one fuel wire is loose or not connected properly?

Thanks Terry. I'll take a look now.

Uninstalled harness and went back to positaps for fuel wires. Here is a combined log with similar pulls to about 125mph (safe track). 1 on map 1 and the other on Map 2. Thanks for the help Terry.

Back in business! It's funny I set the variance safety at more than 19 pts. Your log with the issue was sitting right at 19. Will lower to 18pts next version. :)

@Terry@BMS I have two questions for you:

1. I recently installed the Injen Intake and did a few pulls in the span of 2 weeks. It seems as if the Stinger lost some of its low-end torque and feels slower off the line. Not sure if it's because I'm used to it or what. In the logging section, when I tap on a log, it sometimes displays a 0-60 time. Before the intake install, I got a 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, but after, when it logged a 0-60 time, it was 5.15. Definitely not bad, but I'm wondering if it's the intake? I should note that the 5.15 time was with winter tires.

2. Regarding the 0-60 time on the logging screen, is there an option or something that I have to do to show the 0-60 time? It only shows it a few times.

I'll attach a log with the most recent log and a screenshot of the 0-60 screen.

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas!

Just curious, what intake did you have before installing the injen. Also do you have an exhaust.

Just noticed that your log shows that you’re having some noticeable boost fluctuations and that might be causing your slower 0-60. You could be spinning your tires and causing the boost variations. Do you notice any loss of traction? Have you done several WOT runs to allow the ECU to adapt to the extra airflow? Also, suggest upgrading to the v12 firmware as a few people told me their cars run even better on that version.

@Terry@BMS I have two questions for you:

1

Boost is low, probably due to the colder weather. But log itself looks OK.

0-60 via CANbus is not going to be super accurate but gets you in the ballpark. Expect some variance run to run relative to say a dragy that uses high speed GPS for more precise measurements. 0-60 is all in the launch usually.

I've only noticed a loss in traction when I do pulls when it's a bit wet out and on sport mode (which is kinda stupid and the log that I attached was in sport). I've also done a few WOT runs in an attempt to allow the ECU to adapt, but I forgot to put a clamp on the passenger side turbo until like 600 miles in so I'm not sure if it had any impact on the ECU adaptation.

I also updated to V12 firmware last night so I'll be keeping an eye out on any improvements or abnormalities.

I should note that I'm running 91 octane. Would you recommend resetting the ECU? There was excess airflow during the adaptation period after I installed the intake where I forgot to put a clamp on the passenger side turbo to the intake.

When I first installed my intakes it took over a month for my car to stop oscillating. I actually saw my RPM meter flutter through the gears a little.
