Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

This may be a stupid question, but I just ordered the JB4 tune and I wanted to know if I will be stuck on Map 1 without having the mobile kit to change through maps.

Yes it ships on map1 and can't be changed (currently) without a JB4 mobile adapter or data cable.

I have a 2.0L with an Intake and BOV would I need to re-gap my stock plugs at all for it to handle map1?

I just did a dyno run.

스팅어 3.3-9520.webp

Map 0 362ps 52kg.m
Map 8 439ps 60kg.m

I expected a much higher number.
It looks like the power dropped past 5.5K RPM.

I attach the dyno logs.
Terry could you please see if something looks wrong? Also, is it normal that map0 uses so much boost? (it goes up to 12~13psi)

Thanks

Power looks about right for the boost levels. Map0 boost levels are higher as intake temps are a bit higher. Factory boost is based on load.

On map8 it's on a 67 additive. Did you try 75, 80, to see if power continued to climb with more boost requested?

I will rerun a test with 75 additive and also better octane fuel. Thanks for your opinion!

BTW Do you have any idea why the boost curve goes down after 5500 rpm? It is a common thing?

Boost taper at higher rpm is normal.

Yes the factory tuning has a taper built in to it to keep impeller speed down. The JB4 maps are based on top of the factory maps to keep this effect/ECU safety in place.

Octane may help a bit, what is the WMI mix? 50/50? BM10 nozzle?

I use a BM7 nozzle and 83% Ethanol.

I see, maybe stepping up to a BM10 nozzle is a good idea also? That is what we suggest for the 3.3L.

Any answers to this, please?

Thanks. I will order one and try.

For 2L it's so easy to remove and regap plugs I can't see why you wouldn't do it off the bat. :)

What would you suggest re-gapping to for the 2L? .026?

I suggest 0.022" for everything, 2L and 3.3L, stock plugs, HKS, and Denso. We have a good precision gapping tool on our site that makes it easy to do without screwing up the plug.

Has anyone noticed a rough idle having the gap down to .022 with the jb4 disabled? I was considering .024-.026 with the Densos, anyone think that would make a difference?

I can’t speak for .022 but I have stock at .024 on stock plugs with no idle issues even it the cold winter and I’ve run up to map 5 with no issues so far. I have around 6000km or pretty hard driving with lots of 0-60 and probably 10 1/4 mile runs.

Fuel wires for the older harnesses that don't include them are here: JB4 Stinger Fuel Wires ADD-ON

Log itself is OK but AFR isn't accurate as it's set for fuel wires but none are installed. You can just leave it as is and add them, or if you don't plan to add them set FUD.0 off so AFR logging is accurate.
