Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

No need to upgrade BOV.
In most cases the sound would be the biggest change the BOV‘s make.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

v19 is the latest public firmware.

I just purchased the EWG add-on connectors. I'm currently on firmware v19. Should I expect any immediate improvements on map5 (100 octane unleaded race fuel) or is this mostly to address the overboosting issues? I purchased them to deal with overboosting but that won't be an issue until next month. I'd also be willing to work with map6 if necessary.

Just need some small claification. With the EGW addon, do you still have to change any settings if you are on firmware 21 or is it all predone now?

Depending on the vintage of the EWG you may need to enter the default EWG settings documented in the EWG thread. duty bias all to 50, PID gain to 20, FF to 50.

wow fast response haha. My JB4 and EWG wires are brand new, bought them in december. just checked my logs and duty is set to 50 automatically is seems but FF is 60 in my logs, so ill get that changed and PID is 20 so thats fine. Seems like i just need to change the FF from 60 to 50. Thanks

@Terry@BMS I just installed my JB4 with EWG wires, and set PID: 20, Boost Redux: 60, FF: 50. I'm getting CEL p2564, 06AA, AAAA. Any ideas?

check the pinout is 100% correct and that they are fully plugged in all the way.

I'm in the process of pulling them, to see if they are the actual issue and not some randomness going on. I will update as soon as I get them off.

Anybody get severe hesitation just after JB4 install that wasn’t plugs? I had stock plugs for a very short time. I assumed they were the issue. But I just put in the Denso 5356 gapped to .022, and the issue is still there.

Under ~1/2 throttle everything is great, but if I go WOT it basically dies regardless of speed. Engine doesn’t actually stall, but it behaves like I just jumped back off the throttle completely. Then I do and get back in it under 1/2 and it’s happy again.

There’s literally 16 miles on the plugs. Map 2, 93 octane. No other mods. Weak coils?

2.0 with 5k on it. Basically new. No CEL.

You should check with Terry install mine on my G70 Terry had to send another chip Something about our sensitive Ignition systems

Took it out to log, ran it plenty hard to show the issue, and it never showed. I don't understand. It did present a new issue though. I connected via USB to my laptop and the app recognized the JB4 just fine. Then I started logging. At some point it just disconnected itself, so when I tried to view the log, it hadn't done any.

Then I turned the engine off, disconnected everything, turned it back on and reconnected, and it was fine again. I think I have a wonky JB4 that's having intermittent issues. Gonna contact Terry. Here's the log, but I'm sure it doesn't show anything weird. Car ran fine.

Sounds like you had what I had, a loose wire in the data cable make sure all dsub pins are secured in the harness and everything is secured correctly
