Hello all,

(first post) I recently bought a new 2019 GT after obsessing over it for a few years and trading in my Cadenza. After getting home I noticed that the brake calipers were not painted red as advertised online. Is that an upgrade that I missed or should I take it back to the dealership and ask them to paint them? It's a red car and I think it'd look pretty clean to get the red calipers in there but is that something the dealership would even do?

Pictures please :)

huh... i thought all GTs come with painted Brembo monoblock caliper.
These arrive Stinger assembly line in Korea painted from Brembo.
Please post picture.

Are you sure you have a GT with the twin turbo 3.3L and not the 2.0L single Turbo model?

Welcome aboard.

That is odd. A GT has the brembo caliper painted red from the factory.

New account.. wont let me post a picture just yet. Definitely sure its a GT, I'll put the pic as my profile icon.

I don't know what to tell y'all, if I could upload pictures I'd show the paperwork and window sticker stating it's a GT, or the pic of the engine with the TT (but can't do that yet) and I've already used launch control which correct me if I'm wrong isn't on the 2.0 trims. It also has the 5 spoke wheels that only come on the GT trims and from what I can tell on the website that isn't an option to upgrade from the 2.0 trims. Regardless, is the brake color something I should approach the dealership about or am I essentially screwed?

Here is a quick way to tell the 2.0 from the 3.3: Open the hood and look and see if it has 2 air intakes (the closed black plastic boxes that sit right under the brace bars) or just a single one on the left. The 3.3 will have 2.

2.0 Engine bay:

3.3 Engine bay:

Hope this helps!

you could take a photo of the engine bay and put it as your profile photo to determine if its a 2.0 or 3.3.

Also launch control is also available on the 2.0.

I'm assuming this car was bought used and the dealer mislabeled the window sticker. Either that or someone went through a lot of trouble to make a 3.3 tt GT look like a 2.0t .Premium

OP says he bought it new. Unless they just mean new to them.

@Flowbucket run your VIN through an online VIN decoder and see what it says.

Only one of two things;

1. OP bought a 2.0 and the sticker was wrong.
2. OP bought a 3.3 and it's used and previous owner or someone replaced the original calipers (seems odd to me).

So that's that.

The calipers aren't the only non-GT part on his car. Look at his avatar.

Yeah I'm almost certain OP got a 2.0L model...hope the dealer didn't do this on purpose.

...and this whole time wondering why his Stinger doesn't feel any faster than his Cadenza did.
