Borla Exhaust for Kia Stinger

It may just be that I am not use to such a loud noise inside my car while driving. I may be over reacting a bit. I'll have to listen outside with someone else driving/revving.

Hearing your exhaust though I heard more of a lower brrrr. But in my car the first thing I noticed when driving off was a loud whaaa. And it immediately reminded me of my local 18 yesr old pizza delivery guy with his 20 year old honda.

For those of you considering it. I'd wait for my follow up in a few days.
It may take some time to get used to it.
I also was surprised when I got my Jun BL exhaust and drove off the shop
and my first impression was very similar to yours. (the straight piped Honda civic is a good analogy )
After few hundred miles the sound got better and I got also used to it so it wasn't so unpleasant,
but as I said in a previous post, it is not for all tastes and it was not mine, unfortunately.:p

Just got to listen to my exhaust from the outside while someone else was revving. Video shortly. And it sounds completely different from the outside. I still hate the way it sounds from the interior. But just parked revving sounds great. I'll have to see if I can follow as she drives my car.

Also for those that have been asking, at least from the inside. Switching drive modes does change the sound of the exhaust a bit. I guess just the modes changing gears and gear ratios does it.

Anyone have any suggestions on what exhaust I should put on the 2.0 I’ve seen the Jun BL. I’m looking for some other inputs?

Anybody else having this problem. Sense I put on borla cat back when I have car in manual shift mode with Tc off car hits rev limiter so fast now car shuts down for split second. Notice it is the fastest in sport mode with Tc off and let trans shift for you. Any thaughts out thete

Id you have it in sport mode and with tc off, it will always hit the rev limiter, even in stock form, basically you have to do the shifting appropriately, that is whybunless im using launch control ill keep the tc on

Just a little FYI, there is the Borla "S" type exhaust available from Borla and other vendors and there is the Borla "Polyphonic" exhaust available only from Stinger Haus via your Kia dealer. The Polyphonic exhaust is what was on the orange SEMA Stinger and is tuned specifically for the best sound for the engine it's attached to. There is a difference. My dealer here in Vegas ordered six sets and the cost is $1638 installed and it is Kia authorized and doesn't affect a warranty. The first delivery is set to be this week according to my dealer.

Here is a link to the SEMA car exhaust, you can skip to 1:30

Hmmm....problem pasting links, guess I'll have to add that to my list of Youtube videos to watch.

From a guy who was huge in the import scene 20 years ago and has built a few SEMA and CES cars..

I wouldn’t be caught dead with that exhaust.. IMO it cheapens the car and just gives the german owners that much more to hold their nose higher.

Hell, there is a punk kid who I want to punch in the face that has a similar sounding exhaust as the Orange Stinger. He consistently wakes up my 2 year old all the time..

God I am getting curmudgeon at 40

Each to his own, that exhaust isn't too loud unless your on it which you shouldn't be if your driving in a neighborhood.

Interested in the exhaust as well. Can you pm me info?
Sure, I'll inbox you now.

There's only Jun B.L and Maintec for catbacks. I believe the NGM axle-backs also fit though.

How does the polyphonic system work.?

Also can someone explain why half the systems out there make it sound like there is a broken exhaust mount or a loose heat shield.

According to the Borla website, polyphonic refers to tubes placed in the exhaust with holes drilled in them to arrive at specific exhaust notes....kinda like an old church organ... that's it really...

If you end up getting it ,it would be nice to see what it looks like and if it differs from the $1000 version...

But does it come with some kind of adjustment that the installer works with to tune it to your particular Stinger?

Not that I have heard... I think they mean it is tuned to the model of vehicle , not the specific car if thats what you mean...

Ok yes that is what I meant, thank you.

Guys, there's only 1 Borla exhaust for the Stinger and has never been any other. The SEMA one was a prototype, but the same that the final jig was made out of. There aren't any different versions, that's all.

I asked borla about this. Told them I've heard there's two different models. And the sema car one was exclusive to stingerhaus via Kia dealerships. And the email response I got was "who told you it was different?"

Based on that response, I am assuming there is only one. But I believe Sarge also heard the same from borla directly.

And to give an update on my exhaust. I've grown to like it a lot more. It is def loud. If the stock was 2 out of 10. This would be an 7 or an 8. Drove for an extended period of time on the freeway for the first time last night. There is slight drone but nothing that will make you go crazy. Especially if you have the audio on. I've noticed I can get it to go away completely if I am going 60 to 65. But my usual 80 speed required just enough pressure on the pedal to have the low brrrrrr constantly.
