Just ordered the Borla S-Type Catback Exhaust + June BL Downpipes + Akrapovic Exhaust Tips Oval (51mm) for drone.

I'm going for loud with pops and gurgles as the stock exhaust just doesn't do it for me. The reason for the thread creation is to get tips or advice from any of you fellow Stinger owners on things I should do during install or watch out for?

For the install, im going to do it with a buddy of mine. Purchased 10" race ramps to elevate the back end and front if needed. Really excited about this setup, can't wait to hear it. Will post videos/pictures once all installed. Gunna be a beast!

Hey, i'm curious how this worked out for you. Prospective Borla buyer.

Both the secondary downpipes and cat-back install is pretty straightforward.

For the secondary downpipes, I found it's easiest to unbolt the front end and back ends first, then unbolt the tranny stay bracket. When installing them, do it in reverse - bolt up the tranny stay bracket first (but don't tighten all the way just yet), then line up the hardware for the front and back and tighten accordingly.

The cat-back exhaust is easy as well, just be sure to remove the brace that's right about where the x-pipe is, so you can drop the exhaust down from there.

Bring some WD-40 or any other type of penetrating oil to spray around the exhaust bolts/nuts, and the rubber hangars. Just makes everything a little easier to get off and on.

I did mine by myself using only cheap ramps from harbor freight. More clearance (like from taller ramps) would be very nice, but it's not needed.

Have fun.

I hope he likes the Jun Bls and Borla cat back exhaust together, this allows for quick exhaust release if you have cold air induction added he he enjoy

I have both and did the install myself. It was simple enough. Although, one of the factory bolts was stripped and took forever to come out. Fortunately, the aftermarket exhausts come with their own hardware.

The sound is good, although there’s a bit of drone. Also, it may be a bit too “ricer” ish for my taste. May end up changing it and/or adding primary downpipes.

Well, I'm sure you already know this, but if you add primary downpipes it will become MUCH louder than it is now.

Doing the install this weekend. I will post videos/pics after its done. Took a little bit to get the Jun BL Downpipes from Korea and with the Holidays delaying shipping times. I super excited to hear this setup. Feel any different butt dyno?

Thank you everyone for your input/advice for the installation. For the Exhaust Tips, whats the best way to install those? I got the oval ones that shouldn't require trimming, but wasn't sure if I install them after exhaust is done and tightened up or during the install then tighten?

I didn’t notice any difference from our seated positions. As for the tips, put them on the new exhaust before installing it.

I installed these same tips after a few months of owning the Borla cat-backs. It was easy enough to just slide the tips in from the rear, through the bumper. Just make sure to remove the stock tips before mounting up the mufflers and it should go fine either way. Can't wait to hear the sound difference - I've been thinking of adding downpipes.

Hey Guys, finally installed Borla S-Type Catback w/ Jun BL Downpipes and I’m in love, it’s loud, you get the pops and gurgles while downshifting, and it’s only going to get deeper as I drive more. Not sure what drone people are talking about because I went ahead and installed tips and took others advice. I’m very happy with the setup.

Have a little rattle with tips against diffuser but it’s only sometimes, will prob trim diffuser slightly to create more room or try adjusting the tips a little by adjusting mufflers, but it’s only sometimes so I think I’m going to wait to let things break in before I start messing with things.

Let me know what y’all think!

I also have a minor rattle from the tips rubbing the diffuser around 620RPM.

Sounds great indeed , and I have the same : Jun Bl down pipes and the Borla S type cat back exhaust , however the Drone people speak I do not have , if you have a Piggy back I stalled be-careful not to use too of a aggressive map as for my RaceChip I have to use a lower Map so it doesn’t go into limp mode lol with just the Borla and all 4 cats still on , I had no problems on the highest map but after adding the Jun Bls which removes the secondary Cats my GT would over Boost/ Spool . Enjoy the Borla , I just love it lol

I’ve been debating whether to get the Jun BL. Currently, I have the Borla and love it. But I think the Jun BL adds another layer of character. I probably will get it.

Borla has more character

Oh.. I thought you were hesitating between the JunBL catback and the Borla catback, so I said that Borla had more character. :p

Yeah. Just looking adding another layer onto my existing Borla. May just wait till Spring when it is warmer and after the rock salt is off the roads.
