Is it worth the time and energy to change out the factory plastic waste gate solenoid for the Mac valve? Has anyone done this? Works well in my Veloster so I was thinking it can’t hurt.

I swapped mine out for a Pierburg 7.00470.07.0

Did you bypass the vacuum chamber and go straight from the manifold to the new solenoid?

Those are replacement 3 port solenoids, so they go in exactly like the stock solenoid with all three hose connection.

If you bypass the vacuum chamber then you don't need a solenoid at all.

A Pierburg 7.22908.03.0 will work without any mods, plug and play.

I gotcha. I’ve read where you can omit the vacuum chamber and go straight to the manifold but I tied her in to the chamber. So far so good!

Just saw this but I really appreciate the help. I’m assuming the vacuum chambers there for a reason so I didn’t toy with it.

Any benefit in upgrading? Stock seems to handle boost just fine.

It does feel more responsive with my GFB BOV’s but that could be my mind playing tricks. One thing for sure is the rigidity of the Mac compared to the plastic oem.

The 1.6 turbo wastegate solenoid and BOV solenoid were piss-poor, these were big improvements that smoothed that engine way out. The 2.5T is nowhere near as bad in that respect, but even with the upgraded Pierburg I somehow burned out the wastegate one on the 1.6T. I took the car to the dealer because of the check engine light and they eventually replaced the aftermarket with an OEM and that "fixed" it, except it was bad to the more jerky OEM engine config. Subaru had a problem like this too, the stock tune was just crap, forget about more power, just want to smooth the engine out.

2 years later and everything’s smooth except for one annoying factor. When I build up pressure and release to atmosphere there’s a Staw Wars blaster noise with the blow off noise. Sounds like air back pressure being pushed out somewhere on the Injen Intakes. Either at the turbos or at the filter. Injen says they didn’t hear anything out of the usual. That it was just “normal” turbo sounds but I’m pretty familiar with “normal” turbo sounds with a bigger intake.

I HAVE THE SAME EXACT SOUNDS and im going to be crazy to know whats it can be
I change with hks bov and its again the same starswars sounds, whats it is??

I will send later, I think its our wastegate selenoid thay have a problem, I install yersterday my hks bov and my engine temp move quickley between 92°c-102°c the bov is very hot to the touch, and the sound is not normal, some flutter

post the sound, i wanna hear
Yes. Staw Wahs blaster from a KIA Stinger. We wish you guys well, but curiosity, you know?

Something is wrong, the water temp go around 102°c and the hks sound come more and more like a bark/barking sound, I swap the wastegate selenoid from another stinger and its not that,
I have check fuse: module 2
Check jb4 deconnect,/reconnect
Remove my windbooster
Check and double check all my vaccum line,
I really dont know why all my bov valve sound weird i will post video tomorow

Put your volume to max, Is someone have already hear that let me know, Im sure this is surging or barking evertime in low boost pressure, but I check everyting,
I try with another stinger and this is the opposite, they have a firm 'stuuu" low/high boost
Mine sound like a 'wouvvvve and something wouwouuuvee" :/

If someone know what to do let me know
