Body Color Painted Side Reflectors

I would be HIGHLY interested in something that would paint match that stupid strip and make it so I don’t have to go get it paint matched if I ever wanted to change it.

Panthera Metal

You could probably put 20% tint on it and match it closely to the paint.

Might work, but honestly, knowing it’s tinted and not the same would irritate me even if it worked, which I would be really surprised if it did. The Panthera is a pretty cool color in the way it changes with overhead cover. I don’t think the tint would match it well like that

Black vinyl works well on mine but don't know how long it will last. Could be interested in black or white for a cleaner look.

..................too funny , when I got my car it was going to be one of the first things I did ..............but now I think its one of the signature design elements that I like best ..................ie completely unique ...............friggin weird !! bawaaaaa
I agree - I'm liking the side reflector. Makes for a unique bold look and looks cool at night with the side reflector lit up.

OK learned something new after 5 months, there is a little light in the reflector but must of it is just reflector. I stand corrected. Don't think you would miss it by covering it up. IMO.

I think that light bleeds through from the tail lights.

I'd be interested in this. I have a vinyl smoke overlay an it looks better, but paint match sounds like a good idea.

I never realized so many people disliked the side reflector. I like it! Something unique to our car, has safety benefits, plus I think it just looks cool.

People mention the safety benefits alot. What are they?

I agree , I just think they look cool , I blacked out the rear reflectors and got some grief here about safety but they only work at night when the my lights are on so ??????????????????????

increases visibility of the car at night so people are less likely to hit you. Let's say you have a dark car, you happen to accidentally turn off your lights at night or you have an electrical issue, the headlights of an approaching car will hit those reflectors and you'll be pretty visible to someone behind you or trying to merge into your lane. No reflectors will make it a lot harder for them to see you. Same goes if your car is parked, no reflectors, much harder for someone to see your car parked there.

Plus it's required by law, I doubt you would ever get a ticket for it but there is always a chance.

If everything you said happened (perfect storm of a moonless night, no street lights, other car has no headlights, and you have an electrical problem) the tail lights themselves still have reflectors in them, which are visible from the side.

I'm not aware of any law that says a car has to have reflectors on the side. If that's the case ppetty much every other car on the road is illegal.

Its based on new models produced past a certain date , most cars on the road today dont have them due to this , in 5 years most will

For the SIDE of vehicles???

If anyone is tired and can't get to sleep here is the law on reflectors on vehicles in the U.S. I'm no law professor but the way I read it is "don't touch the reflectors surrounding the head or tail lights".

Enjoy:
