BMS JB4 Stinger water/meth (WMI) sneak peak

Thats a negative.. This would only be fruitful if RWD guys decided to run drag radials on their car and put an exorbent amount of stress on the rear driveline... I would leave that part for the AWD guys ;)

no more stress than AWD is putting on theirs. I've still got radials to throw on, and even my street radials do fine when pressured down and heated up.

Hey, us RWD guys would appreciate this too! Building boost and spinning is definitely still faster than bogging and waiting an eternity for boost to build. Besides, I think this + 2nd gear launch would be amazing for us.

Yes if the torque converter flashes problem this would be awesome!

Just take your dragy plate and tape a zip tie to it. The brake switch is magnetic. (Slide the plate over the break switch) The zip tie lets you pull it out with your foot, lying on the dead pedal, if you need to back up.
Now you can stress test your trans at 8 psi and almost 3k rpm. Now EE degree required.

Just ordered my jb4 with a full meth kit, cant wait to get everything on and see what happens!
I am curious though, currently my car is fully stock with 20k on the odo. My understanding is that there is s fair amount of oil residue built up in the throttle body and intake valves(shoulda bought an occ when i got it new).
My question is, after I get the meth kit setup, and start doing some runs with it, how much meth will it take to clean everything off? I imagine the first few runs will suck, simply because the residue that is there will be getting burned off as the meth "cleans" it off.

A lot but it will help clean the valves over time. We've found most of the oil gets in during vacuum operation via the PCV and have an OCC alternative coming out soon for that. :)

Hat tip to @bal for the mounting suggestion.

And yet, I’m still thinking about going with the 1 gallon spare tire mount instead.

Pro-Tip: Use the damn pipe thread sealant. Yes, it’s messy but put that shit on screw everything down and use a cloth with some all purpose cleaner to clean up the residue. You can’t use too much because it’s non-setting and trust me, you’d rather not have it leak. It’s a pain to loosen the connectors once everything is in place.

Install can be as messy, or as clean, as you’d like it and if you’ve read any of my posts, you can guess which option I went with.

Question: If I'm not intending on racing, but live in southern AZ where it's hot and the gas is terrible, would you suggest running a WMI kit for safety? I plan on doing full bolt ons and JB4 + Fuel Wire kit + Bluetooth Connect and would like to keep the car well protected from the heat and crap gas. Is it worth the added cost? How often are people having to fill the 1 or 2 gallon tanks?

WMI only kicks in at full/heavy throttle. If you don't race the car around often probably not worth the trouble.

Do you think I would be fine then with just the added cooling of a larger Intercooler, intake, and velossa tech big-mouths? I do drive my car hard, but tend to drive more conservatively during the summer months.

The fresher air and the better cooling, will definitely play in your favor.

Cool, I'll just start with the bolt ons then. Gotta build up a relationship with a service writer at my dealership too haha. Luckily they seem pretty mod friendly because they sell, install, and warranty aftermarket parts installed by them for 2yr/24k miles. The GM was demo driving a Stinger GT1 with lowering springs, intake, and catback when I picked up my Stinger.

Octane is the main thing.. Will you mix in E85 when really pushing it?

There is one station near my house that has E85 but I guess they switched it to E54 actually because AZ/CA/NV suck. I saw you sell a flexfuel kit, so I guess that means our cars are able to run full e85? or just a 30% mix?

We suggest E30, higher mixtures will need our CPI kit, for higher power levels.

You could try E54 straight just as a test though on map2 and we'll evaluate it.

I'd love to but it will be a while before I can get the JB4 unfortunately. Once I do though, I'll let you know!

What's the max safe E value we can try on map2/map3 to see if it's ok? I think my station has a "guaranteed minimum E70" sticker.. Is that asking for trouble?

Not interested in max power, just better than 91 and safe.

Shoot for around 30%

They may run E70 in the winter but summer should be full E85. I have the same sticker at my location and tested it to be E85 back in the spring.
I do 3:1 pure gas 92 and E85 for 95 octane E20. E30 is too much for some Stingers. I'd shoot for E25.
