Blood Type Racing (BTR) working on Stinger tunes (2.0/3.3)

Not all ECU tunes are equal so we still have that to argue about!
We need a big national or multi state drag event. Rent the entire track for a day and just have a big shoot out.
I agree that not all ecu tunes will be equal but at least I will be able to tell if the ecu tune is superior/better than a piggyback. In this case it will be a direct comparison BBR vs JB4. At least me and you pretty much have the same mods. So even thou ambient conditions will be different when we hit the track, we still have some data to compare the Tork ecu to BBR as well. Either case we will have actual track results to put the piggyback vs ecu tune arguments to rest. We will see what performs better at the track, real life conditions, no virtual reality and no excuses lol. We will see if the JB4 fan boys we right all along or just wrong. I will share my results with no bias or tampering to the results. I can’t wait I am so exited.

Its happening in August in St. louis. You didnt see the FB posts? They are renting the drag strip for the whole day.
Road trip ?? Let me know I am down!!! I will strap in the car seats and the cooler with snack/drinks on the trunk. Have the wife drive the stinger and I will drive the Lexus.

Text me!

Look at you go buddy already got it all planned out and kept me out of it lol jk

Small world, Rick and I work together lol. This whole time we worked on the same place and never ran into each other at work.

So BTR IS coming out with an ECU tune soon???
Yes there currently working it now. They will have it out in like 1-2 month. It’s confirmed.

They are working on one. No ETA on release or if it will even be released.
It will be released. ETA is 1-2 months. I just visited them today and left a box of girl scout cookies.
Disclaimer: Da Jackson you might be providing fake news.

They are real stealthy about their product... if not for this forum, would’ve never known

Agree lol .... don’t feel bad I live like 25 minutes away and if it would not have been for @DaBears4Lyfe I would of never known. The hype is real thou, check out their website they have done some amazing projects. I am not saying this because there local to me, but they know there stuff when it comes to Korean rice cookers.

I do flash mapping regularly. Working on our EcoBoost JB4 back end maps as I type this. Once you have the DAMOS (table locations and a short general description) it's fairly basic to figure out the details. Not quite the rocket science many flash tuners pretend it to be. Without a DAMOS would be another story all together but no one does that.
Totally agree. But there is no fully mapped DAMOS file for the Stinger that is publically available.

I don't have it myself but I've been told by other tuners the Stinger DAMOS is available. So it's simply a matter of tuners figuring out the relationship of tables and the logic path, to get their desired result. e.g. the easy part.

Not sure if the DAMOS is incomplete or if the limitation maps are undocumented but I've spent many hours rolling through the ECU maps with John B. so he is not just pretending it is complex. If it were easy Lap3 wouldn't have spent a year in development for their ECU tune and Tork is going on 6 months in their stage 2 tune. I don't doubt the basic 50-60 hp tune is terribly difficult.

With the DAMOS it might be a little tricky identifying certain limiters and what to change to get a desired result but you follow a simple process of making a change and evaluating to understand the logic paths used and the required tables. Having the correct diagnostic tools is a large part of that process. A sharp mind for how the logic paths should work also helps. But trying to map out a DAMOS manually using winOLS or something is in ballpark of difficulty. In terms of what other tuners are doing any why it has or hasn't taken them so long, no need for me to speculate on that but I have my theories.

Any updates? Last thing I saw was a FB post at the beginning of the month saying they would have flash tunes "soon".

@debears4lyfe was told 2 weeks about a week ago.

Yup Im supposed to go in there next week. With the recent announcement of the turbos being done. I may hold off. Ill know more once I talk to pressertech this week and once Force Fed hits the track later this week.

I'm hoping to hear something about this soon. I plan to also hit Pressertech early May, but if this comes out with comparable performance with a better price then I would be all over it.

I'm debating Pressertech as well since they're only ~2.5 hours from me, and I'll be in Atlanta this fall for a music festival. Can you see if they have any plans / experience with the Transmission side of things? I really want better launch control.

I am not trying to steer you away from Presertech but I would not sell myself short without giving BTR a chance to see what they have to offer. Myself and @DaBears4Lyfe will get the tune before everyone else does. We are honest guys and will give an honest review. I myself will hit the track and give actual results with my personal opinion.

I wont lie about mods or anything. I won't sugar coated. Actual results and you can decide for yourself.

Patience is a virtue.
