I have an AWD 2019 Kia Stinger GT. My main performance mods are…Injen intake, Magnaflow exhaust, Dyno tune (for 93 octane). I dyno’d 395whp/429wtq after those mods. What I love about my setup is I just jump in my Stinger, push the start button and go. I don't have to do anything at all. Just make sure I put 93 in the tank. No hassle. No issues. :) But, I'd of course like more power and would love to add another 50-100whp if possible. I'm willing to spend up to $7,500 to pursue this goal, but I don't want to lose the no hassle operation I experience today.

Upgrading fuel systems, swapping stock internals, upgrading turbos, piggyback tunes and on and on gets pretty confusing. I'm thinking my goals are probably more a pipe dream than reality, but wanted to see what everyone here thought. Thx.

Already being tuned I think the only options left are downpipes, wmi, and bigger turbos. Last I saw, LAP3's turbo kit was $10k. But that was years ago so maybe the price has dropped. Who am I kidding...the price probably went up since then.

A little over budget.

i believe the stock internals are good up to around 500whp? is that correct?

The only thing I've read says 700ft lbs max for the transmission. No idea about the engine's limits. The LAP3 guys would be best to talk to if you decide to upgrade the turbos. You'll be one of only a handful of posters here who have made the switch so not a whole lot of first hand experience floating round these parts.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I suppose they are good up until the point the motor grenades.

Don't be silly. It would take like 50 stickers to get 100 whp.
I wonder what the power to weight ratio is of stickers.

so, I'm not a tune expert by any means, but 450 whp and over 500 lb feet are easy to obtain with say a Lozic or Lap 3 ecu tune, right? maybe new spark plugs is all you need? on top of intake, and exhaust which you already have. that seems like the easiest route, no?

I will add that my set-up is pretty close to get in and drive. I do have to keep meth around and fill up the tank in the trunk every so often but daily it's ready to roll with really no extra maintenance. I have not been on a dyno but think realistically I'm in the 450 whp, 500 lb ft. range on Map 7, JB4. I'm peaking at 22-23 lbs of boost easy with little to no timing issues.

CPI or WMI or both should be your next mods. After that you can do pure upgraded stuffed turbos or just big turbo gang it. But for sure fuel first, boost second. Also that that point you want (and need) supporting mods. Intercooler setup, transmission cooler, diff brace. Also be aware that the head bolts can strech and lift the head a tiny bit under high boost. So your head gasket may be in danger if you start cranking it up to max. Im at like 400whp and 500tq.

i have hks plugs as well. i had a dyno tune done for 93 octane when i did the exhaust, plugs and intake. thanks for your input! if wmi is truly that low maintenance, i can handle keeping a tank full. :D

Cpi is the least maintenance in theory. Especially if you have e85 near

Good point. Also about improving the fuel..... Intercooler and CPI or Meth. OP, yes I hear you on the tune, just wondering why the numbers weren't a bit higher. Although that makes sense as it's probably approaching JB4 map 2 area, which is basically the 93 octane Map to run.

So it's been decided then, you will get an intercooler and CPI or Meth!

love it!

here's what i was thinking...

1) WMI
2) EWG Connectors
3) JB4
4) Ark Performance Downpipes

...is an intercooler needed? recommended?

Do you drive your car hard? Live in a hot climate? If so then an intercooler is a good idea to get consistent power.

Especially since he's still $5k under budget.

Might as well add some lightweight wheels and stickier tires to the list.

You're doing well with the relatively mild upgrades. What's your 1/4 mile slip? I'd imagine tires as Kamauxx suggests would be on the short list.

Other than increasing your dyno numbers, what are your actual goals for the car? Are you just trying to maximize straight line speed or do you expect to track it someday? If it's your daily driver, are you fine [second car?] with the possibility of not having the car for an extended amount of time if it pukes a piston or the transmission shits the bed?

I'd say you're at what I would call a sweet spot in terms of reliable long term operation of the car and performance. You're likely not reducing the engine or transmission's long term durability (much) but you're seeing a significant bump in power. Past this point is no return (or warranty service), IMO.

What type of dyno tune did you get, those numbers seem low for an ECU tune
