Bad paint micro blue gt

I don’t care if they been sitting for a year. Paint should not be blistering anywhere on car.weight until the people that got car wrapped right away or that seal coat stuff put on . Now the moisture is stuck under there.kia needs to come clean it isn’t just yellow it’s all colors. It’s the clear coat part of paint job that was mixed wrong.when one of blistering spot popped it’s still tacky underneath so that means did not dry properly between coats or no enough chemicals one way or the other

I think the point of him saying that was to determine if they were from the batch of cars that everyone think these paint issues are limited to in 2018 (not really anything to do with it sitting). Sounds like this may not be the case. Reports of paint issues on new cars (Sept 2018 build in this case) is pretty alarming.

still unsure as to where on the car this is taking place?

Here is the hatch edge at the back of the roof... White spots are where there is no paint. It's spreading too.

Just looked at all four door inside edges, top to bottom. Yep, I have I'd say a dozen, more or less, "zits" on the inside edges where NOBODY CAN SEE A DAMNED THING. They are not particularly "squishy". But, yes, they are not hard either; yet. Are any of them looking likely to burst? Let "ooze" out? Let moisture in? Not seeing that happening anytime. What will happen, over time, is that whatever is collected there will dry out entirely, shrinking the bumps more than likely. The result will not de facto be paint peel or exposed metal. Keep an eye on this. If it starts to become a problem with exposed metal (rust), do something then.

Do not pick at these. What possible good will that do? Didn't your mother ever tell you to stop picking at your scabs? To stop standing in front of the mirror making your zits worse, etc? You didn't listen, then, did you?

What happens is over time the moisture builds and they get bigger and blow up. But worst then that water is trapping there against metal and rust will come down the road. Open a case with kia I did. There going to paint the whole car over for me.just think of the people who don’t know about this or to even look there. They will have problems in future.

I baby my car go over it with a fine tooth comb after finding this out. Check all edges even edge of door was missing paint like hatch is. Just go by your local dealer and look at new ones they still have same problem. Bad quality control from the top. Very sad

Everyone start your claims with kia put a little fire under there feet. So we don’t get blown off. They have been good about it so far from what I’m dealing with so I’ll keep let them help me until they dont

Spread the word your regular car person won’t even recognize these issues until it’s past warranty. Let’s help as many people as we can.

Mine stared tiny like pin heads and as time went on bigger and bigger. And the two that popped where on bottom and popped from closing the door. Then it bare metal time. I didn’t even see those until I laid on ground with light.

It is definitely a big deal. These are areas where dirt and moisture collect by design. They need to be covered by paint.

Will be watching. "Bigger and bigger." Got it. "Pop!" Got it. We'll see. This single fubar will probably be best under its own thread: something like: "Door Edge Paint Bubbles Get Bigger Then Pop." If that doesn't arrest the attention of any forum member passing by, nothing else will!

@MerlintheMad do you know what they put on that inside seam? I feel there is some membrane on top of the metal that is then painted but I can't figure out what it is. I'd argue it's moisture under that material which is causing these fissures. I've just never spent so much time inspecting a vehicle and cannot recall if other vehicles feel the same there.
