• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australian 2019 Stinger GT review

How does he get his DRLs to cycle like that? "Hey! Look at me!"

The same approaching and receding shots of the car on the curves got a bit annoying by the end.

Nice to see another review of the car that is good. Take that, Consumer Reports.

Its the camera shutter that creates that effect.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. :P It just looks so slow and deliberate in the video. I haven't seen camera/shutter effect do that before.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Reviewer states it "takes E10" !!!

No, WHAT is "E-10?" Is that fuel designation or something? Our equivalent of "regular" 85 octane?

I put e10 in 4 tanks in a row, then 98 in 2 tanks in a row and revert.

Not much difference under full throttle, slight changes in throttle response and efficiency favouring 98 but can't justify the $500+/year extra (until I mod). The engine is advertised to support e10 and we have a 7 year warranty.

If you put ethanol in your tank you will be replacing it in two years.

No I won't..... Kia would. And what evidence do you have to support such claim? I strongly doubt that there would be any signficant damage (unless you are changing from stock or putting the car under additional stress), else it's pretty silly of Kia to suggest you can use E10 when providing a 7 year warranty.

If/when I mod, run a tune and start dragging/tracking, totally agree that 98 is all you'd be wanting to fill up on.

Where did you see Kia suggest E10 as a preferred fuel?

Did I reference it as a preferred fuel? I said it's marketed/advertised as supporting E10.

All New Kia Stinger Specifications & Features | Kia Australia and go to the disclaimers at the bottom. Clearly states its compatible.

As E10 is listed as being supported, any issues caused by E10 would be covered under warranty. If you were to change engine parameters, would definitely be running 98 along with the suggested spark plug changes.

I withdraw the word "preferred". Does that make you feel better and calm you down. Lol.

After reading the previously mentioned KIA specs website I see it says "recommended fuel" is regular unleaded BUT it also says that it is E10 compatible.

So my take is that they prefer you use regular unleaded but if it's your preference then E10 is ok.

After my partner's Hyundai Getz had an oxygen sensor fail and the head service guy said not to run E10 because it can cause issues (which should have been ok in the Getz) then I stopped using it in any car.

So nothing Daniel has said is contrary to what he is allowed to do and as he says it is up to KIA to fix any problems but having a potential problem occur and all the hassle and time to get it fixed is something I would not be looking forward to.

I just don't think it's worth it considering the price difference

Hence why I will run 2 tanks of 98 through the engine after every 4 tanks of E10 - find its the best balance of cost v maintenance (from the cleaning properties/additives of 98) - although nothing more than speculation.

It's important people are aware of their options (E10, 91, 95, 98 all supported), the benefits of each and any guidance around when you should move to a higher octane (e.g. Tracking/running a tune).
