• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Not only has Kia Australia added Neon Orange to our Stinger choice of colours, but has taken away the Stinger 200Si and Stinger 330Si from the range of models.

Models available are:
# 200S - 2.0L T
# GT-Line - 2.0L T

# 330S - 3.3L V6TT
# GT - 3.3L V6TT
# All models available in Neon Orange.

What's your opinion on this move ?

Base model and a fully spec’d GT model makes sense. I’m guessing they weren’t selling many of the in between variant which is probably why they ditched it, although on that logic they should’ve ditched everything except the 3.3L GT. Guess they can’t do that though.

Also GT model now has heated steering wheel from MY20 onwards

I agree with your comment, but they need the lower base models for Police Duties in 3 States

At this point it may be the only reason they’re keeping it, majority of sales have been GT. I think they should keep a base model as a way to get people to the brand/model but it appears most are overlooking it when it comes to buying and going straight to the top

Hmm, so the only MY20 updates for the GT I can see is Neon Orange and heated steering wheel.
That’s what it looks like, just what I need in a long Sydney summer is a heated steering wheel...lol

I initially tried to order the Si but the salesman said everyone is ordering the Gt. He showed me the screen on his computer, the pre-orders read 220 gt's and 1 "S". So after the futile attempt to order the "Si" I ordered the Gt. I'm wondering if others had that experience?

Is that actually confirmed for Australia? I'm still to see a confirmed listing of the changes for MY20 vehicles in Australia.

Part of the issue is that the base model is too expensive - it just isn't going to draw people in at the price point (someone said they paid over $60k drive away for a 2.0L MY19 recently, and that's insane).

Ah, cool. It wasn't up on the site last I checked.

What a weird thing to add to the car in this market.
It will appeal to the older demographic and to people with arthritis and poor circulation in their hands.

I was told by a dealer they have also added more sound proofing to the MY20 model.
And Welcome, where's your location? If you just want to add that to your avatar it helps.
Yes I could have done with extra sound proofing. I put in over $200 worth of dynamat, mind you that was to mask the drone of the aftermarket exhaust.

Hey there @Ozstung , are you still feeling the heat on your lower leg, when driving, I haven't experienced any extreme heat as you have described even way back last year ?

It never leaves my mind, even when the outside temperature is below 25c if the climate control is not set to on the pipe gets scolding hot. It has absolutely nothing to with the back A/C vents set to hot as mine never have been. I basically run the front Ac on all year round. I really must stick my head in someone else's car or get them to drive on a 25c/26c + day without the climate control or Ac.

The main problem comes on a warmish day when I have the sunroof open, I believe the Ac turns itself off and I find my left leg on fire.

No issue your end DC?

Haven't noticed any extreme heat so far, I have even placed my left leg against the lower trim, still felt no heat like your experiencing, next time I drive her, will check again, maybe next time you meet up for a drive day, ask another owner and check their car, if it's an isolated issue with your car, or not.
