I found this on YouTube, it shows how to update the UVO software. This only works in the US. This must not update anything to do with stereo I guess.

I sent in a email to kia.ca about the issue and I will continue to tell my dealer about it. I hope kia Canada does right about this issue. I’m not a fan of getting my dash torn apart but I would let them do it.I told them (KIA Canada and my dealer) about it, in writing, months ago.

Well done! Good to hear that its being addressed, and hopefully a harbinger of things to come. Why are you taking it in today if they need to order the head unit?Ok guys I emailed Kia Canada and they emailed my dealer. I’m taking the car in today and they are going to order me a new head unit.
Not sure they said they said they have to fallow procedure.... and inspect the head unit. Maybe to just get serial number off it not sure.Well done! They just said kia would do the US fix for me. I would just take it to the dealer and say other people in Canada have started to get there’s replaced. All else fails email Kia Canada like I did.So no service bulletin reference needed? But KIA Canada has to be involved/authorize or do we hope some day dealers will actually know what's happening?
New to the forum here. I did not have the patience to read all 177 posts here but did read a lot of the earlier ones. From the longevity of this thread, it appears that this is still an issue for most. As for myself, I bought my GT2 in July 2018 (6 weeks ago) and have had the fade to back issue happen three times, all of which followed a Bluetooth audio call. I have not reached out to the dealer yet.
If you scroll up like 15 posts on this page you will see this now has a TSB to fix it.
