Audio System Fade Setting Not Saving

Are you having to set your audio system fade each time you start your Stinger?

I found this on YouTube, it shows how to update the UVO software. This only works in the US. This must not update anything to do with stereo I guess.

Completely absurd that they would not have an equivalent or even easier process for those with full telematics (Canada) and the full phone app.

However, having updated from an SD card provided by dealer, I can confirm it does not fix the audio system problem. I believe it only updates maps and the UI of the infotainment system.
 
I went to kia today in Canada told them of my issue and they did not even take note of it....

There has been a repair notice issued by Kia about a week ago. My car has been in the shop now for about 5 days because the replacement part that came in was bad. Fortunately Mark Kia gave me a loaner Stinger GT... which also has the audio issue!
 
I told them (KIA Canada and my dealer) about it, in writing, months ago.
I sent in a email to kia.ca about the issue and I will continue to tell my dealer about it. I hope kia Canada does right about this issue. I’m not a fan of getting my dash torn apart but I would let them do it.

Let us know what they say. My prediction is either nothing, or something non-committal. There will be no communication of any value until/if they replicate the US service bulletin.
 
My system moves to the front not to the rear. Has anyone else had it move randomly to the front? Also, do you think PS573 would fix that problem also?

Ok guys I emailed Kia Canada and they emailed my dealer. I’m taking the car in today and they are going to order me a new head unit.

Well done! Good to hear that its being addressed, and hopefully a harbinger of things to come. Why are you taking it in today if they need to order the head unit?

Not sure they said they said they have to fallow procedure.... and inspect the head unit. Maybe to just get serial number off it not sure.

There is info they need to verify before ordering the head unit. Probably build date/firmware as the TSB is only for cars built before a certain date.

So no service bulletin reference needed? But KIA Canada has to be involved/authorize or do we hope some day dealers will actually know what's happening?

They just said kia would do the US fix for me. I would just take it to the dealer and say other people in Canada have started to get there’s replaced. All else fails email Kia Canada like I did.
 
New to the forum here. I did not have the patience to read all 177 posts here but did read a lot of the earlier ones. From the longevity of this thread, it appears that this is still an issue for most. As for myself, I bought my GT2 in July 2018 (6 weeks ago) and have had the fade to back issue happen three times, all of which followed a Bluetooth audio call. I have not reached out to the dealer yet.

If you scroll up like 15 posts on this page you will see this now has a TSB to fix it.
