Morning everyone!

My name is Dustin and I live out in Denver, CO. I have always been a VAG enthusiast and have never stepped out from either VW or Audi. My best friend(more like a brother honestly) is the East Coast Kia corporate trainer. His role is to help dealerships and their sales team truly understand the difference in each Kia model one being the Stinger.

He recently broke down the car to me in a way I have not heard. From pulling some of the development heads from BMW and Audi to design this touring car. How the AWD system fully functions to the “rebranded” ZF8 transmission and the suspension quality.

Essentially, I am now looking for a Stinger GTS as my next car. The orange is usually not my flavor but the alcantara interior, carbon fiber bits, HK sound system, it’s what I would prefer to have.

I’m used to throwing on an APR or United Motorsports tune with an intake/downpipe(s) and calling it a day. Seems pretty straight forward so far but being a new platform, not as many options yet. I see intakes, JB4 and a couple options. My apologies about any questions I ask that are common knowledge and I know the search function will be my best friend.

Thank for reading and see you all around!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! APR is excellent and I almost went that route with tunes in the past - but ended up going another route with my setup. However, I've used JB products (JB+, JB3 and JB4) tunes starting over ten years ago. Definitely a great company to work with. Keep us posted on your search!

Good luck in your search. Don't be suckered into paying close to or over MSRP.

I appreciate you saying that! I’m able to find the AWD version for around $37-39k at the moment. My advantage is that I tend to purchase outside my state and have it brought in since the prices are different from CO by a lot. Really trying to weigh in if I want AWD or RWD with this platform.

I am leaning toward AWD but there is a vast price difference between the 2.

Thank you! The JB world is quite prevalent in the VW/Audi community as a way to keep your warranty in tact from a straight out ECU tune. A lot of my friends use them so no worries there. It seems like a quite underrated motor as only making 365 in stock form with that much displacement and 2 turbos. Happy to see what JB4 has done so far.

Hey CoolRunnings39,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum. I too have owned an Audi in the past and convinced others to own them but now have switched over to pushing Kias on everyone because of how amazing they are. These cars are the bargain of the century and its amazing that they are providing the performance that they do. As far as performance goes the Uncle Chip Lap3 Performance Tune and JB4 ( which we carry as well) are the 2 best tuning options. There is plenty of other bolt-on parts for engine, exhaust, suspension, etc. I would be glad to talk with you about the different products as well as hook you up with a discount on parts after you get your GTS. Shoot me a message at any time.

Thank you for letting me know! I’ll definitely reach out when I pick one up for different parts, etc. My thing with all turboed cars is making sure it can breath properly. Typically intake, downpipe, and tune are the first things I do.

Being that we live in Colorado I’d imagine AWD would be the one to go for. Either one is awesome tho.

I am really leaning that way. I don’t track or race around like i used to but it’s a nice feeling to have AWD moving you around.

Putting my current Audi up for sale here shortly. Worth more private than trade in. 16’ Audi A6 TDI -Prestige S-Line. Going to miss 600-700 miles a tank.

I know that feeling. I had a 2017 Audi S5 Prestige. Definitely miss it, but I enjoy the Stinger more.

I know the search function will be my best friend.
The "Find" function will become your nemesis, as it is mine. Welcome to the forum. If you don't like Orange, that's a weird way to get alcantara bits. Why not get a color you really like and swap out the steering wheel and central console cover?

Welcome, have you gone on a test drive yet or have you made your mind up from your friends advice and online research?

I'd definitely go AWD in your climate.

It’s funny, I actually don’t mind the orange too much but if it becomes to over bearing, I’ll just wrap the sucker.

Sacrilege! Lol. I have lost count of the times that I have said I am still imagining a Fed Orange wrap over my Silky Silver. That would be ironic: you wrap your Orange Silver, and I end up wrapping my SS Orange. Hahah.
