ATQ Subframe Collars

It still references putting the cover back on.

REAR REAR: Remove the 19mm Nut with your impact gun. Insert the collar onto the threaded
rod, and then drive the collar into place. Remove the nut and put the cover back on and tighten the nut down on the cover. It’s okay to gently use your impact gun to snug this nut. Give it a good two ugga dugga’s.

The video is wrong about the rear rear.

So is this kit still a good idea? What if I only have one ugga dugga and not two? Should I just give up?

So in looking for what is available in upgrades for my new 2020 Stinger GT2 AWD, I came across this thread.

Do you need to get an alignment after installing these collars?

No, you do not need to get an alignment after installing these.

Can you use chasis support braces with these?

Just installed these today, took me about 3 1/2 hours with a few breaks. Only had access to 2 jackstands. Really easy install. After having lowering springs on and off this car, I would say these collars have less of a noticeable effect comparatively.

Still really happy with the result, it has given the car a more premium feel. It felt like it was falling apart every time I wen't over rough roads (really rough Canadian roads) and it no longer feels that way. Overall a more comfortable and quiet ride without any decrease in handling.

Only con is my alignment is now out pretty noticeably, which means the subframe was probably a bit out of whack before.

I installed them in the fall and also didn’t notice a huge difference in handling but it does feel tighter as you described. I hope they decrease the need for frequent alignments. I’ve noticed this car is bad for that.

That is my hope as well, the front hasn't been an issue alignment wise for me anyway but the rear seems to go out really easy.

I installed these very shortly after I got the car. Can't say I noticed a difference at all but being my car was so new, the frame was likely still very tight to the body.

But I am glad that I installed these right away, as I have no doubt things would have loosened up by now.

Worth the money.

I just did these. took me about 3 hours with a bit of a break between the front and the rear. Watching the video really helped for the rear fronts. The rear rear ones I just removed the nut, inserted the collar, and retightened the nut. They went in fine. Fronts were a piece of cake. My subframe hadn't moved much in 9k miles.

Haven't gone for a drive yet, I'll post once I do. I already have springs and sways, so I'm not expecting a night and day here, just some refinement.

I got them installed 3 days ago... small difference in the handling. I thought it initially helped my creaking/ticks in the interior but it seems maybe only minimally so a day later. I can say that even with the sways before this, there is a very specific dip on my drive home along a slight turn that always causes a very slight rear end hop, that seeeeeems to be gone. Feels like generally there is an improvement to some jitteriness I felt before.

After driving it for a couple of days, it is more buttoned down in its responses. Bumps reverberate less, and what little slop was left in the back end after the sways is gone. It’s no longer BUMPBumpbump, it’s just bump. parking lot speed bumps feel a bit softer. In general it’s just a slightly more refined feel to road imperfections. It’s impressive what 10 little aluminum collars can do on a 4,000lb car.

I went over the same high speed mid-corner bump on my commute to work that caused my first “WTF is wrong with the back end of this thing?” moment before I installed any aftermarket parts and it just responds the way it should and doesn’t move in any directions counter to normal expectations. This is how this car should have come from Kia.

I’m getting an alignment tomorrow just in case, I’m not risking pricey Michelins to guessing that I didn’t modify the geometry installing these.
