Yeah. That's the current recall TBS that simply doesn't work well. I'm assuming eventually they may retrofit our earlier cars with whatever setup the newer cars coming out of the factory have. Apparently they have no issues. Hook us up!Hi, don't know if this has been issued before in the thread.. But kia has sent a service memo for the rattling noice.. There is a manufacture flaw that makes that noise and needs to be fixed by the dealer under warranty.. See document attached...sent it to my dealer and they are already looking for for the parts to fix it... Send it to yours!!
fixing a 50k car with some foam, bubble gum and paperclips..![]()
I hear they have a TSB for the original TSB now...![]()

That wouldn't bother me at all. I'd completely forget it was there...I'll take it since mine rattles a bit but still far less than without "TSB 1".
The foam trick as posted in this thread helps and since I've applied it a week ago, 100% rattle-free. With the right black foam, I don't mind it since it's fairly inconspicuous.

Happy with this "DIY" fix even if the foam wears out eventually and have to reapply it.
So I picked my car up today and no more noise! They did tell me the second repair notice that came out still was not 100% they had to add additional washers to pad out the guide stops so there would be no gap.
{Dealer} response:
"It was not a TSB, it was a Service Action "SA322 RATTLE NOISE FROM TAILGATE". A Service Action is similar to a recall, but it is not a safety issue, so people won't receive a letter about it. Dealerships will see them on the "WebDCS" page based on each individual car's VIN.
I've been hearing this but their Service Action paperwork says "Technical Service Bulletin" in big letters at the top. Strange...Oh, and just to correct our Kia jargon, @Luminary posted this info from her dealer in another thread...
I'm not even sure of the precise source of the noise. Is it the guide bumpers banging around or the latch assembly loose around the metal loop in middle of the trunk? Please straighten me out if you know for sure. ThanksI fixed my rattle by adding two 1.5 mm thick rubbery pads I made myself between each of the hatch bumpers and the hatch.
Despite this success, I decided to have Kia service do their fix because of warranty concerns. The rattle was reduced but not eliminated by the dealer installation of the factory kit. I showed my pads to the Kia service guys and they installed one in addition to the factory spacer on each side. This has eliminated the rattle (so far).

I think Kia would just rather it not be a technical service bulletin - even though it is (in my opinion)...What was I thinking, relying on a Kia worker to educate us on Kia stuff?Guess I should have read the not-so-fine print more closely!
I can't understand the Australian. Does it say anything different?Ok so I have the real fix...........
It looks the same as the first TSB but this is written in Australian...... Lol
You can thank me later...........
