The Stinger doesn't have a MAFchanging the factory bypass valve for a blow off valve is done strictly for the sound it makes, unless you're planning on running a lot of boost. The downside to this is that your car is going to run rich for about a second every time you come off boost. Your MAF measures the air that comes in and tells the ECU how much fuel to inject, with the blow off valve that air is vented into the air instead of back into the intake system where your ecu is expecting it to be.
Generally it's not a good idea to run a blow off valve on a pretty much stock car, but it also isn't that big of a deal. You might get a little smoke and foul your plugs and cat faster.

I'm using GFB Deceptor Pro 2 BOV's. Expensive and a little harder to install but superb quality.
