I think it was meant to say the Worlds record for an INTERNATIONAL Stinger meet ..........................Canucks representing .....................bawaaaa , it was a great day thanks to everyone attending , what a nice group !! We invite our US brothers and sisters up to Vancouver for the next one !!!

World record for international Stinger meet, is that the same as how a baseball competition with only American teams competing is called a World Series?

International Stinger meet is impossible for us, there’s no bridge across the ditch to Kiwi land (mainly to limit how many of them come here) and I doubt Stingers swim well the only competition you’d have in that category would be from our European cousins. Sounds like our North American cousins changing the rules again to ensure they come first

I notice the title of the thread has changed now to “Almost World Record”

Like I said it was a nice try guys but the title stays with us and continues the tradition of Australia punching above its weight on the international stage.

I’ll have to correct you on this point as the Toronto Blue Jays are in MLB so it is a genuine “World Series”.
I love baseball & go to a game every time I’m in the States, also managed to catch a Blue Jays & DBacks game at Rogers Field when I was in Canada a couple of years back.

Hey @Coast GT, I live in Newcastle, WA. In this context the WA means Washington, not to be confused with Western Australia.

Similar to Newcastle, NSW, Newcastle, WA started as a coal mining town; mining began here in the 1870s and continued until 1963. A total of 13 million tons were produced, much less than Newcastle, NSW.

It appears both of our Newcastles were named after Newcastle upon Tyne, in Northeastern England.
