Can we do something about all the fighting and arguing in the threads? I'm all for heated discussion, but just about every thread, especially in the tuning section, becomes a pissing match between members and/or business owners. I'm seeing vulgar petty personal attacks from people that are not only not getting banned, but their comments aren't even being removed. There is absolutely no reason for anyone going through, lets say the 1/4 mile thread, to have to wade through dozens of pages of people fighting just to get to relevant on topic information.

Can we please start actively moderating to keep the fighting down and the the thread derails at a minimum? Right now this place is worse than honda-tech back in the early 2000s and that's saying something. I'm already starting to visit this place less because it's taking way too long to try to find something I actually want to read sifting through the nonsense. I'm on the verge of stopping all together.

If you feel a post should be removed, please report it so that the mods are alerted.

In those heated discussions you usually can get some solid info. Look at all the stuff being posted by Tork and Berger. I have a lot of reading up to do.

And plus we are all grown im sure everyone will be ok.

To the OP, I feel the same way. If you don't keep up on the forums for a day or two, when you come back there will be like 5 to 10 pages of BS and petty pissing competitions to wade through and I have almost entirely lost interest in every thread.

I said something a while back on a couple pages, about the vendors being overly aggressive and involved, but received a lot of negative feedback (disregarding a certain member, I think everyone knows who I am talking a out, who likes to be very dramatic about almost every single post and do a lot of labeling/name-calling). I am not saying they don't have relevant information, and they should absolutley be aloud to post, but they should keep information about their products strictly to their own threads and only be posting relevant/useful/helpful info elsewhere in threads they do not own. Just my opinion.

There are a couple of forum members I often let get under my skin. Last night I told myself to just ignore em. I can't promise to do better but I can promise to try.

And I apologize for my part in derailments and arguing over the last few days.

.......................clearly I'm missing something ...................bawaaaaaaa:eek::eek:

As you may have noticed with the posts from Aussies we keep it pretty lightweight and try to take things not to seriously. Infact it's almost a prerequisite to have humour in our posts.
I've noticed the forum has now got more intense with a lot of chest beating and various persons trying to show how smart they are by arguing or belittling others. I suspect this is because something is missing in their lives.

I understand our humour is an acquired taste and it may appear to clog up the forum, but this place needs to be enjoyable place visit and should be I believe a bit lightweight and not super serious. Of course not all the information supplied by people is 100% accurate but one should not rub other peoples noses in it when they find it. The Stinger is a fun car this should be a fun place right? Just my 2c worth.:D:D

suddenly this forum's issues make a lot more sense. I've seen where these car message boards go when there is insufficient moderation, if that's what you guys want then continue with what you're doing.

If you want an example of what I'm talking about, take a look at this thread. These guys couldn't even stay on topic for ONE page before pulling their pants down to compare their "packages". Anyone make a real piggyback yet?

or just crack jokes because that's really going to help this forum and the Stinger tuning community grow.

I actually see a lot of good information in that thread.

Did you report the posts that offended you so the moderators could take a look?

I agree completely. I left for a few months because of this. I’m back now but very sporadically. I’ve got enough issues out here in the real world (as we all do) that I don’t need to come here to see people arguing, insulting and berating each other in what is in reality just a car discussion. Takes all the fun out of it and makes it much less useful to find information. But as they say, if you want a friend, get a dog.......they can’t type or text.

If you have an issue with how the forum is moderated I suggest you speak to Sal. He sets the direction for how we moderate.

If you want a forum that doesn’t get off topic then your going to see a lot of posts deleted and people are going to be unhappy.

Again if it’s directly against forum rules, report it. We can’t look at every post within 15 min. Reporting alerts us to what needs to be reviewed. I don’t remember seeing a post in that thread reported.

Ive been on forums in the past where I would agree with the OP but this forum isn't one of them. If you think this place is bad try out honda-tech, I used to frequent that forum back in the day and it was a shit show. This place is pretty tame if you ask me.

I feel like this kind of mentality is a growing problem in society as a whole, people want everything to be filtered and moderated and to live in rosey little bubbles. I say screw that, let people get loose, if it gets racial or personal attacks start sure, shut it down, but I like it a little spicy. Haha

I “grew up” on VWVortex. If you didn’t know what you were talking about you got called out by everyone. If you posted a pic of your car expect to get everyone’s unfiltered opinions.

This place is tame.
