A 2.0 Review

low 30k Base: I got a great deal but I settled for the cheapest model.
high 30k Premium: I got all the cool features but not the power.
high 30k GT base: I got the performance and the better look but not the features.

decisions... (still shopping)

I went with the base GT.. had to have the power and most of the "advanced" features I would turn off anyway. The only thing I would like to have would be the mirrors that lower when you put it in revere and the blind spot monitoring. Other than that, there is nothing else on the fully featured one i would use.

He mentioned that 5.9 sec 0 to 60 figure again. Others say 6.7 or higher. The 0-60 numbers vary a lot.

Same here! I've test driven the premium AWD, GT AWD and GT2 AWD. The GT AWD was ruled out due to lack of features and the ride was not as smooth as the GT2. The GT2 was knocked out based on price. I almost pulled the trigger on the premium AWD (and still might) but at the last minute backed out. The GT1 appears to be the sweet spot but they are being snatched up quick in my area! So we'll see what's available end of summer.

GT1 is a good compromise, after adding the tech package it's still $4k less than the GT2. That's the route I took.

The only real Achilles heel for the GT1 seems to be the unavailability of an LSD for that trim--at least in the U.S.

Yes, now why do you think Kia makes it available on the GT and GT2 but not the GT1?

Then again, we don't get snow here in Florida and I don't race, but I still like the power. Very little pedal pressure to merge on I95 and never lose traction.

Did anyone else notice the lack of road/tire noise on that car? I saw the tire they had on that car was Michelin, couldn’t make out which one as I watched it on my phone.lets hope when the 2019s come out they use Michelin’s instead of the Bridgestones they have on the 18” wheels now.

I'd say Kia corporate is definitely reviewing their rollout choices and the responses they've received as a result. As to whether or not that translates to actual revisions remains to be seen....
