52 year old Grandma...am I too old for this car?

Just finished a midnight drive...picked up my new baby today. Took all the grandkids a little bit riding...the 3 years old kept telling me to go faster...and oldest grandson said I should name it Storm Trooper. Of course he's a Star Wars fan. Can't wait to drive again tomorrow...like being 16 again.
Storm Trooper - that's a perfect name.

Looks like you have definitively answered your opening question to this thread. Great choice!

Congratulations, and enjoy your new Stinger!!!

Indeed I have. Wish I didn't have to work today...much rather be driving.

The Steven Tyler Ad hit the nail on the head...."Feel Something Again".

Ahem...

Wonder if we'll hear back from Jeff. Maybe too busy asking "tire kickers" how much they can afford for a monthly car payment, or pleading with the sales manager to allow a customer to take a test drive.

KIA USA and its network of dealers face many challenges. Good dealers appear to be much more the exception, not the rule.

Apologies if my comments seem critical, but KIA USA presents a truly target-rich environment!

Seoul, I hope that you are reading this!!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you I have been quite busy selling as well as trying to keep up with this. I will get you the photo of your tire pressure answer shortly. Jeff

Congratulations....Glad to read that you are feeling like a teenager again. Let the good times roll.

@Tri City Kia That is really high for a daily driven car. Keep in mind that the photo shows max PSI so 44psi is dangerously close to the max, especially when the air inside the tire heats up and expands with regular driving.

In my opinion you should have the pressure set at 35psi that way you have enough room for air expansion and the ride will not be harsh.

depending on your elevation will always be a factor however, if you look at the actual picture taken of the Stinger tire I posted they have it at 50 psi we suggest 44psi.

View attachment 7079 Dealer recommendation is 44
@Tri City Kia, the photo you posted is misleading and your claim is misinformed.

Tires are required to show MAXIMUM Load and Pressure ratings. For any given tire, the recommended pressure is almost always lower, and is based on the specific vehicle and application.

This picture tells a more complete story:

Geez, this is basic stuff that all auto dealers and salespeople should know.

Another basic thing to know is that each car has a tire information placard showing recommended load and pressure information. On Stingers, the placard is posted inside the driver's door on the B pillar. Here's an example:

Yes, as long as you have the factory wheels and tires on your car, you should use the recommended tire pressures on the placard.

If you can get into and out of the car and you have a valid driver's license, you are not too old for the Stinger.

Never too old. My wife is 68 and has a blue stinger. I'm 66 and have a 2017 Mustang GT and a 2017 Challenger Hellcat.
I have summer only tires on the Hellcat so I bought the Mustang to drive in the cold weather. Sounded like a better plan than having to change tires every season.

Enjoy life at any age. You worked hard might as well play hard.

I’m new here and 62. No kids...
So glad I saw “granny” get the white GT2. That’s what I’m looking for, Red/Red hopefully. So, more POWER to ya!
Joe

You should be driving something like the Lexus ES (more suitable for grandmas).

Who am I kidding...

Congrats JC!

Drive what you like (don't see why there is any age requirement/limit for the Stinger), esp. since you seem to enjoy/appreciate fun rides like the ATS and Z28.

Turbo Stinger Grandma had her first encounter with someone who thought they could beat me up the dual on-ramp...I think it was a Toyota of some kind...couldn't tell once he was eating my dust!
