lmfao makes zero sense why it can't remember Sport mode...It remembers: Comfort and Eco.![]()
The constant beeping makes parallel parking in a congested city a nightmare tbhWhat about the front sensors? If you're next to a curb, beep, behind somebody in the drive thru beep, pulling out of the driveway beep. I get it's a safety feature but that's more annoying to me then the seat belt.
Because Kia said No. I reckon it's part of the protocol that goes into mileage claims: if allowed to remember Sport mode the mileage claims for the Stinger would have to be lowered, probably by a significant amount. I can't think of any other reason why Kia would not just allow the selected drive mode to be the same one every time you start up.lmfao makes zero sense why it can't remember Sport mode...
Interesting theory... I am not surprised if that was why though...Because Kia said No. I reckon it's part of the protocol that goes into mileage claims: if allowed to remember Sport mode the mileage claims for the Stinger would have to be lowered, probably by a significant amount. 17-19mpg? I'm getting 23-25 with mixed back roads and highway in the winter. Are you just gunning it all the time?So here is the naughty list for me
oh if you haven’t already please subscribeplanning on doing a ton more Stinger content.
His MPG is pretty accurate and similar to what I am experiencing on my end. I gun it often but never going full-speed full-blast.17-19mpg? I'm getting 23-25 with mixed back roads and highway in the winter. Are you just gunning it all the time?
Auto stop will not work for a million reasons. Most common seems to be battery health. Just because the voltage reads ok does not mean the battery is in top shape. I have had many fords (I'm a ford tech) that the battery charge will be under 85%, will test fine but auto stop does not work under that %. Needs to be put on a computer and there are what we call PIDs you can look at that will tell the reason for the auto stop being disabled. Most scanners can not read those as they only do the OBD stuffI can actually see the voltage of my battery anytime I want thanks to my aftermarket security system and it's good, that was my initial thought. I had it in for an oil change and had them look at it, they couldn't find anything wrong outright but they didn't have their "Stinger specialist" in that day so I'll have to go back, just haven't had a chance to schedule an appointment yet.
Auto Stop/start not being memory is a EPA thing. The auto stop is to help in fuel mileage. Making it not auto helps them get by the regulations. I don't believe there is a car on the market that has a memory feature for it but I may be wrong. I don't mind it unless I am going to be driving hard.I keep my list to my Top 3:
1) Remote Start should have been standard
2) The auto start/stop button should have the option to be permanently disabled
3) Lack of auto open/close on the rear hatch
Minor complaints are the rear window is a bit small to see thru providing lots of blind spots and lack of fully connected EVO services. My 2018 GMC truck came fully equipped with the GMC app for 5 years providing me the ability lock/unlock doors and remote start from the app.
Im glad it is not more known and popular. when you pull up and someone says "nice looking car, oh its a kia", you just laugh and leave them behind with their jaws hanging on the ground.Total lack of advertising and awareness of how great the Stinger is compared to competitors...
I had a rental Jeep I think (might have been a GM) and there was no way I could find to turn off the auto stop/start... drove me insane for the week....Auto Stop/start not being memory is a EPA thing. Ours adjust forward and backwards..Didn't see this on her might have missed it.
Head rest doesn't adjust forward and backwards. My eife complains all summer long about ponytail when she gets in
It's tricky, but it does adjust. I'm sure you just haven't hit on the right pressure point. Hah.Didn't see this on her might have missed it.

If I'm doing my normal commute without highway, I only get around 16-17 mpg. Conversely, I've gone on long highway drives where I've averaged 27+ mpg (going by the car, not manually calculated).17-19mpg? I'm getting 23-25 with mixed back roads and highway in the winter. I've been averaging about 22.0 in the winter and 23.5 in the summer. 2018 GT2 AWD. Mostly open rural roads, rolling terrain, moderately heavy foot.If I'm doing my normal commute without highway, I only get around 16-17 mpg.
