5 things I hate about my Stinger GT

Also: it's been discussed to death, but not remembering the drive mode is also now on my list.
It remembers: Comfort and Eco. :P

What about the front sensors? If you're next to a curb, beep, behind somebody in the drive thru beep, pulling out of the driveway beep. I get it's a safety feature but that's more annoying to me then the seat belt.

lmfao makes zero sense why it can't remember Sport mode...

The constant beeping makes parallel parking in a congested city a nightmare tbh

Because Kia said No. I reckon it's part of the protocol that goes into mileage claims: if allowed to remember Sport mode the mileage claims for the Stinger would have to be lowered, probably by a significant amount. I can't think of any other reason why Kia would not just allow the selected drive mode to be the same one every time you start up.

Interesting theory... I am not surprised if that was why though...

So here is the naughty list for me

oh if you haven’t already please subscribe:) planning on doing a ton more Stinger content.
17-19mpg? I'm getting 23-25 with mixed back roads and highway in the winter. Are you just gunning it all the time?

His MPG is pretty accurate and similar to what I am experiencing on my end. I gun it often but never going full-speed full-blast.

I can actually see the voltage of my battery anytime I want thanks to my aftermarket security system and it's good, that was my initial thought. I had it in for an oil change and had them look at it, they couldn't find anything wrong outright but they didn't have their "Stinger specialist" in that day so I'll have to go back, just haven't had a chance to schedule an appointment yet.
Auto stop will not work for a million reasons. Most common seems to be battery health. Just because the voltage reads ok does not mean the battery is in top shape. I have had many fords (I'm a ford tech) that the battery charge will be under 85%, will test fine but auto stop does not work under that %. Needs to be put on a computer and there are what we call PIDs you can look at that will tell the reason for the auto stop being disabled. Most scanners can not read those as they only do the OBD stuff

I keep my list to my Top 3:

1) Remote Start should have been standard
2) The auto start/stop button should have the option to be permanently disabled
3) Lack of auto open/close on the rear hatch

Minor complaints are the rear window is a bit small to see thru providing lots of blind spots and lack of fully connected EVO services. My 2018 GMC truck came fully equipped with the GMC app for 5 years providing me the ability lock/unlock doors and remote start from the app.
Auto Stop/start not being memory is a EPA thing. The auto stop is to help in fuel mileage. Making it not auto helps them get by the regulations. I don't believe there is a car on the market that has a memory feature for it but I may be wrong. I don't mind it unless I am going to be driving hard.

Total lack of advertising and awareness of how great the Stinger is compared to competitors...
Im glad it is not more known and popular. when you pull up and someone says "nice looking car, oh its a kia", you just laugh and leave them behind with their jaws hanging on the ground.

I had a rental Jeep I think (might have been a GM) and there was no way I could find to turn off the auto stop/start... drove me insane for the week....
The only one worse was a chevy cruze hybrid that when it stopped the whole car shook (like a bad stall) and the A/C powered off (not fun on a hot summer day.... I just whacked it into neutral every time I was braking to a stop... ahhh the joys of rental cars lol

That’s interesting that the Cruze hybrid ran the A/C compressor off the engine, my experience with a hybrid was a 2010 Fusion hybrid and the A/C compressor was an electric one that ran off the H/V battery so you never lose A/C even when the ICE would shut off.

It was a few years ago, so this may have changed... but it was among the worst rental cars I've had (had some good/very good ones as well, Jag XFS, X5 E-drive, Challenger RT, 370Z, among others ... love me a free upgrade :D

Didn't see this on her might have missed it.
Head rest doesn't adjust forward and backwards. My eife complains all summer long about ponytail when she gets in

It's tricky, but it does adjust. I'm sure you just haven't hit on the right pressure point. Hah. :D Once you make it happen, you'll wonder why you were such a klutz. Then, next time you go to adjust it, months later, you'll find out that you don't remember how to make that danged thing move; dig out the little paper with the illustrated arrows swinging this way and that, and figure it out all over again. I bet that if I went out there right now and tried to move the headrest forward or backward I'd do it wrong (I've had the car nearly three years :D).

If I'm doing my normal commute without highway, I only get around 16-17 mpg. Conversely, I've gone on long highway drives where I've averaged 27+ mpg (going by the car, not manually calculated).

My MPG in bumper to bumper is between 7mpg-9mpg no joke... but the average between the terrible traffic and some open driving it seems to hit between 16mpg-18mpg... highways I am getting 25mpg+ easily...

I've been averaging about 22.0 in the winter and 23.5 in the summer. 2018 GT2 AWD. Mostly open rural roads, rolling terrain, moderately heavy foot.

Nothing new here, but:
The Auto stop feature
small gas tank
that it will shut itself off when remote started when the door is opened (stupid)
having to push a button inside to open gas cap cover
that it has a gas cap at all (talk to Ford)

That said...I love the car.
