<40K for a GT2?

OTD pricing is difficult to make comparisons on due to taxes and licensing rates and so forth. The "purchase price" of the car "should" be standard and a good benchmark to shoot for. For example in AZ our sales tax is a whopping 10.1% and yearly tags run in the arena of $1000 per $50K of "list price." It is reduced linearly year after year for depreciation but not by much.

That being said, i paid approx $5k in added tax and fees that someone in OR would not have.

With regard to Kia dealers...well, there is a whole other forum on that topic. For me, personally, never been treated more poorly or with more derision than trying to purchase this car. Even when i offered a fair price i was laughed at like they were selling a 1 of a kind car.

For clarity and the rest of this thread, let's stick with the "possible" purchase price.

Hi all, I have been shopping for a Stinger for little while now around Dallas. So far for a GT1, I have been quoted 39k out the door. For a gt2, they are saying about 45k plus taxes and wont even budge even tho 2018s are discontinued. I am trying to trade and just pay cash so I really dont want to lease. Are these about the best numbers right now without leasing? I don't mind the financing part but the leasing part I don't want to deal with. Ideally would like 2019 but I dont think I could a gt1 for 40k yet.

We have a GT2 RWD and a GT2 AWD for the same price right now - $38,950 each.

One of the best discounts off MSRP I've seen, I couldn't find a dealer anywhere in the South East willing to even get close to that.

When I bought my GT1 three weeks ago in Alabama, I checked all the dealerships within 200 miles of me. The best deal I could find was a GT1 marked down to $39.8k. I used the conquest rebate and got it for $36.8k then combined it with the 0% apr financing. I could have gotten it for $34.8k if I took the $2k financing rebate instead of the 0% APR, I financed 85% of the vehicle so it was cheaper for me to do the 0%. This is all before tax and fees.

If you had a blue one, I would have made he drive, Dave! :)

AWESOME price. And for Oregon residents who pay no sales-tax, even BETTER!

Road trip! Fly there then drive it back!

Ha! Please believe I'm tempted! Am planning to lease though, and that's a silly amount of miles to put on the start of a lease even if I do drive low miles per year. If the incentives go up for November I'd be hard pressed not to think about it regardless. Many of the dealers near me are still telling me around 48k is "already below invoice" and as low as they could possibly go - sure.

I have a question, if you are giving that price for a financing purchase then what would the lease price be? I know you would lose the $2000 KMF Cash and $3000 Conquest/Loyalty rebate but you would get $7700 in lease cash, so is the lease price $36,250?

Is the 45k GT2 before or including the current crop of incentives? There's the $3k loyalty/conquest incentive (if your trade qualifies), and there's the $2k Kia financing incentive, and if the GT2 they have is an AWD, there should be another $1k there somewhere, too. If you are current or former military, that's good for another $400. This is for purchasing. But if 45k for a GT2 -includes- those incentives, then I'd call that a crap-deal, to be honest, and would try another dealership. (These incentives run through the 31st, though...)

It would be $52,525 minus the $7,700 GT2 lease rebate , minus the 1k awd rebate, minus the dealer discount of $7575, then add in the extra fees (lease has extra fees of a round 1k over financing). So looking at around 2k in fees, so around 38,200 otd since they have no tax. If you live out of state though, add in your sales tax so another 1600-3000 depending on your rate. If you need financing, it's best to not bother with the lease buy out.

To lease the special would look like this:
MSRP: $52,525
Sale Price: $44,950
Lease Incentives: $8,700
Cap Cost: $36,250

So you are correct on the sale price of the vehicle but you'll have to add the $650 lease acquisition fee.

Lease then buyout is best deal in OR due to no sales tax...if you are a resident or can get a resident to buy/register and then resale to you as most states ( i believe) do not charge sales tax on third party car deals.

lease buyout is only the best deal if you don't need financing or don't qualify for the conquest rebate. The interest you'll pay for financing will eat away the extra rebate you get from the lease buy out, Kia offers 0% interest if you finance.

The $2000 financing rebate is only with the 2.9% or 3.9% financing though, not the 0%. If you want to just pay off the financing immediately then the financing versus lease are pretty comparable not but the lease still ends up about $1000 better.

You been to Central KIa in Plano yet? if not or if you havnt made friends with a salesman pm me and ill try and help you Wash

0% is better than the 2.9% with 2k rebate if you're financing most of the car. If you pay off the car immediately the lease buyout is a little cheaper, if you need to finance the entire thing conquest + 0% financing is a little cheaper.
