3D Printed Snorkel Swap

Nice Work! Following for info on your sales plan. STL vs finished product. Could do either.

Holy cow...that is a big intercooler. If you have 3D CAD software and some patience its not too bad, but getting the measurements precise can be tricky. Are you thinking you would want it to more or less go all the way forward to where the original shroud meets up with the bumper cover?
Yes is it big. Thats why I can't fit the VT snorkels.(I also think they are overpriced for what it is)

In my case I was thinking of having it shaped like this. Don't know if its easy to modify the STL file but why not try. :D

I tried to make some prototype in cardboard but it was too big and the mount part is tricky.

Nice work! Love seeing people doing things like this!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
What program are you using to make the 3d model?

Did he ever released the STL I'd love to try printing it out with my printer. Also what software is he using to make this.

@Hyperjetta I was considering pulling the trigger on the VTs when I came across this thread. What's the latest status on these? I would be interested in the product.

No news isnt good news

So no news is indeed not good news...but its not all bad, haha.

Over the holidays my printer crapped out and it just took forever to getting it back up and running. While it was down I wasn't able to print and test any prototypes so that really slowed things down.

Meanwhile, I have been tweaking the design and trying to add an option for an LED insert that could be tied into the daytime running lights. Not sure if that excites anyone else besides me, but I kinda like the idea of a soft red glow coming from the grill. I'm also prototyping a partial lid for the stock airbox so that it can fit around the aftermarket air filters and at least offer a little bit of isolation from the rest of the hot engine bay.

For now both the LEDs and lid aren't ready, but if you're interested in just the basic snorkel I could produce a few sets and sell them for like $50 + shipping. Just pretty much looking to cover my costs + maybe put a little away towards an exhaust or intercooler. I can also do different colors besides black, but I might need to charge a couple extra bucks depending on whether I have the filament. If you're interested send me a PM with the color you want if its anything besides black and your zip code so I can estimate shipping costs.

I'm not suuuper into the idea of selling the file at the moment, but I'll let you know if anything changes. That being said, I don't mind answering questions or helping out someone who wants to design something of their own. For those asking about the STL, I use Blender 3D to do my designs and Cura for slicing. Both are free software and pretty powerful.

I wonder if my work will let me use their very expensive 3D printer to print some. If you want to sell me the file, that is. Also you would have to trust me not to start printing out mass copies and selling them.

Id be in for a set if you can make them fit the Wagner intercooler.

I'm looking at the documentation on the Wagner install and I'm not sure what would impact the fit of the snorkel. Do you have to remove the stock shroud behind the upper part of the grill?

If you're interested shoot me a PM with the color you want and your zip code so I can get you a shipping estimate. I'm willing to do 10 sets to start just to make sure I don't get myself in over my head haha.
