30k mile service?

I ended up taking a lot of people's here advice and just looked in my manual for service. I ended up doing oil change, cabin air filter (I know it's super easy, next time I'm doing it myself), tire rotation and front tire balance. the biggest hiccup that I ran into was I wanted to get my front and rear differential fluid changed and I ran into a wall with the dealership. for whatever reason they said that there wasn't even access to change the front differential which really scared me because it's a Kia dealership. then again they do share their service with Honda so I gave them the benefit of the doubt, I've never had any bad experience with the work they've done but I have not been impressed with the knowledge of the products they are supposedly experts on. In addition to not knowing where the fill plug was for the stinger, which is located on the front of the block facing the bumper, (which is not an excuse because they should have repair manuals telling exactly where and how to do everything) they said that the service interval was 65,000 miles OR if it had been submerged in water. I just rolled $36,000 mi so I'm going to address that issue later, I'm not hard on the car so I'm sure the differentials are fine. They were also unclear on whether or not the all-wheel drive had limited slip in the back. I know that the rear wheel drive GT2 has an LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and the way that they came to the conclusion that the all-wheel drive version does not have an LSD (Limited Slip Differential) is that they did a part search for it for my VIN and nothing came up. if anybody can confirm or deny that the all-wheel drive version GT2 has limited slip differential in the rear, that would be good info to have.
The USA spec GT2 awd does NOT have an lsd, only the gts awd and indigo package in the states have lsd with awd. I'm also getting close to asking to have my differential fluid replaced... will see what the dealer her says to me..

Replacing rear differential oil is super easy. The front one is super easy, as well, if you can get to fill plug. I removed sway bar to get more room when replacing front differential oil on mine. Kind of PITA, but doable.

Yeah I watched a YouTube video on someone doing it and for the $85 they were charging I would rather them just do the front and I would do the rear myself

Thank you for this

Yesterday I got my oil changed and the LSD service which involves replacing the fluid. I was surprised at the cost of the LSD fluid replacement which was $150. This was at an independent garage. The service advisor reported the reason was the high cost of the fluid and additive. Apparently our car requires a synthetic 75 weight oil combined with an additive, and this does not come cheap! We are at 41000 miles on our 2019 GT2.

It requires 75w85 oil. I use redline 75w85 in mine. It comes with lsd additive in it.$20 a quart. Approximately 2quarts for rear and about quart for front.Takes about 15min to replace rear, and a lot more time to replace the front.

Using Red Line Synthetic 75W85 GL-5, did you have any issues with grinding? I have a GT1 RWD and looking to replace the oil, so I am trying to find the proper one to use.

No issues at all! But mine is awd, so it has open diff.

I used the Amsoil 75W90 gear oil that comes in a bag with a nipple which makes it super easy to fill the rear differential. 1709823349211.webp
