• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Just took the beast to the local KIA dealership in Bendigo, the service department's two counter staffers Laura and Maddy =very good.

I asked the dealer to sort the rattle above the dash (behind steering wheel), fixed - was due to loose wiring which is a worry for a new car but at least it is sorted now.

They also reckon Head up Display is rattling (must be since they fixed other rattle as I have not heard this) and they have ordered in a replacement HUD. Has anyone else had that issue?

Diff Oil - they knew I wanted it replaced but said will be done when car is back for HUD (next week), not sure why delayed as it is a known issue but at least they will do it.

Paint protection flap (dirt underneath since day 1) near rear RH door is called a Ricochet apparently (cute) and to be ordered in & replaced next visit. Sales guy I bought the car from @ Southland Kia (hopeless, stay clear) knew dirt was under the flap but fobbed me off so I just assumed it was a very crap detail/clean and dirt was on the top, not underneath the film.

So nothing too bad out of the above apart from the extra trip next week but can't complain about the customer service, friendly and got the car back in a couple of hours - would have been an hour had I not had them look into the above issues, so I no complain!

Am interested in what other issues have come up for Stinger owners at the 3000km freebie.

I had no issues @ 3000kms & I’m now at 29,000kms

Good too hear some positive news about a Kia Dealership Service Department experience, for a change.:)

No car issues ... but @3000km I did ask them to check wheel alignment, raise the headlight level and check auto trans shift for some "sharp" shifts. All good and within specs ...so I will do a wheel alignment when I get around to fitting my sways, I raised the headlights slightly myself and the auto shifts have normalised/smoothed out (but I might just have got used to it more?). Dealership was great to deal with btw (Keema Cleveland)

Good to hear. The diff oil is expensive and most likely will need to be ordered in . They need 1.6 litres of it, check they order sufficient as some dummies in service don’t know that.

I've had a little off and on rattle from dash pad above instrument cluster and believe it's a not an uncommon legacy from bi-modal installation but I can live with it as I really don't want the dash pulled apart again.
Haven't heard of a HUD being replaced because of a rattle.
I thought the PPF you are referencing was factory installed?
Yes, the replacement diff oil is expensive but it would only be replaced foc if said diff was noisey. Mentioned mine at 3k but dealer said was ok. Later i had a slight "rrrrrr" on tight slow turns and it was replaced at 10k. I was there when mechanic drained diff and the colour was grey....we both looked at each other as neither had seen this before, but no issues since @ 15k
Edit. And the filler for the diff is in a very hard position to get to.

No idea mate but when I took delivery of the car 5 weeks ago, the sales guy was clearly in a rush to do something more important, gave me the 2 minute tour of features when he was in drivers seat, when done and I walked around to drivers side, he looked down at the PPF and said something like "just dirt on the PPF" and walked off. I hadn't even noticed until he mentioned it, then looked and thought it was on the outside of the PPF otherwise he'd had been more concerned... until I drove 170km home and then realised. Emailed him and said I wasn't too happy and to send replacement PPF to my local dealer, he fobbed me off and said get them to deal with it as a warranty job. Unreal.

The only thing not working since we took the car home from the dealership was the right side interior boot light. So at the service they checked it out and found it wasn't connected. Works ok now but needs replacement clips to keep the light in place properly. They ordered them in and taking car in on Wednesday, they advised shouldn't take more than half an hour so I can wait in the lounge.

Are you guys replacing the diff oil as a precaution or is it listed in the service manual to replace this early?

Most are only being replaced "as required" when a rrrrrr noise develops.

How does the rrrrrr noise start? On this last road trip, I wondered if I am starting to hear a "machine" noise; hard to put into words; not pervasive at all; in fact at first I thought it was road/tire noise; but it persists. It's a background noise, midrange and a faintly "fluttery" quality to it: and it makes a tone that goes up with speed. At normal surface roads speed I can't hear it at all; but at c. 50 MPH it becomes noticeable. It doesn't get louder the faster I go, just higher in tone/pitch. And then again, it may be that I am so accustomed to the sounds my car makes, that it was always there, but only now am I starting to separate out different noises that the car makes.

I figure that I will just keep listening in case it changes. If it starts to get louder I'll assume a bad wheel bearing, or low fluids somewhere, whatever. The car will get taken in pronto. As it stands, the noise isn't alarming or annoying.

In my case could only notice when sharply turning at very low speed such as car park aisles/ramps.
