Upcoming recall for Stingers with 3.3TT engines regarding the driver side turbo oil feed line potentially deteriorating overtime due to head and leaking oil.

This was one of the things I was afraid of happening to my car since it’s 160,000km without warranty.

So this recall only affects USA/Canada Stingers?

Recalls have nothing to do with warranty, out of warranty vehicles still have the recall covered because it is safety related.
This recall is north America wide but I assume other countries will also adopt this in time.

has anyone had there vin come up on the ntsa site? mine did not yet

I had my car for service, a U.S. 2020 stinger gt 3.3t, and the dealer said the car needed the recall work to replace the oil feeder hose and pipe.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I just got my notice for recall fix. I'm in the US with 2019 GT 3.3T. Letter says 3 hours but my Kia said a few days. The service person said they need to drop the engine out. I'm more afraid that dropping the engine out and putting it back in doesn't always workout 100%. Like a clip might be missing or a screw not tightened. Fingers crossed none of that will happen.

Same recall in Canada. 2021 GT Ltd. Dealership quoted 4 hrs. Did not say anything about dropping engine and transmission

Smh. Just got the notification today on the Kia Connect app. What a hassle.

I have mine scheduled for the recall work to be done May 27. Seems they are swamped doing seasonal tire changes. I also found out that Kia dealerships depending on size will only have one or two techs that are trained and certified to work on a Stinger. My dealership is small and only has three techs and one apprentice, only one tech can work on my car

Which Kia dealership did you go to? I have to get the recall done and I’m undecided on where I will take it.

I use Bank St Kia. They are small but efficient. I hear bad things about Hunt Club Kia Service Dept

I guess it also depends where you live. I’m in Orleans There is a Kia dealership on Mer Bluer
I’m in Orleans too. I got my Stinger from that Kia dealership. I’m thinking of using them for the recall. My concern is I do not know how good their service department is. I avoid dealerships like the plague.

I had this recall work done yesterday at Galeana Kia in Fort Myers, FL. They had the car at 8:30am and it was ready at 4:30pm. They also replaced a hose in my EVAP system that a rat had chewed through. Both resolved in the one visit. They had another Stinger in there at the same time probably getting the work as well.

So they didn’t pull the motor ? Many on the forum are saying the motor has to be pulled to replace the hose

Bank St Kia pays for an Uber if you leave the car with them to repair

Naive question - does the work for this recall (replacing a pipe) require an oil change? I'm due for an oil change soon and was wondering if I could get a freebie w/ this recall work.

Did they need to drop the motor? Is your car modded at all? I just got the notice :/

What are the ramifications of having aftermarket intake/exhaust with this recall? Have to go back to stock before bringing it in if they have to drop the engine?

I don't know if they dropped the motor, but I doubt it. My car is not modded at all and I go very easy on it, no hard accelerations or breaking. I drive it less than 10k per year.
