2022+ Kia Stinger Borla Active Valve Exhaust

Awesome. Thanks for the pics. I’m still stock so I’ll have an idea.
How’s the drone in the rear seats with the valves closed? Want to make sure as a daily that my kiddos don’t complain. Still torn between this and the mbrp with active exhaust.

No problem!

Sorry can't answer the backseat drone question. I don't have backseat passengers that often, so hopefully someone else can chime in.

Overall the drone is mainly in sport mode, but the vast majority of my driving is in Comfort unless I want to drive spiritedly.

There is some drone in comfort, you'll notice it when driving uphill for sure, but for level driving I'd say the overall drone is close to stock's Sport mode. Maybe a little bit louder.

I've heard of people clamping on some exhaust pipe extensions on the Borlas for previous generation (2018 to 2021) Stinger. The extensions helped extend the exhaust further into the stock exhaust tips. You could always go that route just and it's much much much cheaper than trying to buy some new exhaust tips for 2022+ Stinger.

I've also heard of people clamping on some exhaust heat wrap (instead of the pipe extensions) on previous gen Borlas and that helped with the drone as well. That's an inexpensive option too.

Here is a quick picture I took.

I never took a pic of the stock exhaust, so you'll have to look at someone else's stock setup for comparison.

Looks like the Borla tip ends shorter than the stock tips. Of course the Borla should have a bit more drone though

Thanks, I took two more of the Borla from a similar angle.

EDIT: not sure how/why my pictures turned sideways when I uploaded them. :-/

After 3 weeks with the Borla active exhaust, I can confidently say it has broken in some and mellowed down - very limited drone on acceleration and speeding up on highway, but cruising is perfectly fine. If you have ever had an aftermarket catback exhaust or muffler delete on another call, this is a very solid daily catback exhaust that is more aggressive than stock. I typically drive in SMART these days which keeps the valve closed, but Sport is significantly more aggressive than stock with Borla.

Haven't quite recorded another video since day 1 cold startup, but really enjoying the exhaust. Stock was just waaay too quiet.

Ordered the Borla today. Should be in sometime late this week but probably early next week. I used to do these myself in my garage but old age has taught me that not having my own lift equals a few days of extra back, knee, and shoulder pain that I'd rather just take it to a local shop and have them put it on while I wait so hope to get that done by first part of May. Just looking to get something slightly louder than stock and this sounds like the right choice. Had a Borla catback on my 2003 SVT Cobra and that was super loud....LOL...but this sounds like it will be just right.
