I actually like the way it looks in this video! The all brown interior, the quilted seats, detailing in the door panel, the lower, wider infotainment screen, all of this makes it look more upscale interior. I also like the look of the tail lights, if this is the way the finished product looks, then I would consider it a nice upgrade.

Be interesting to see what the cost impact is for these small upgrades, and if this all translates across the various trims. One of the things I loved about the G70 was the quilted seats. However, in the G70 the quilted seats came at the expense of a hard plastic top of the doors. Also be interesting if the quilted seats come here based on that article it sounded like it may only be local to Korea. I will hold on to my current 2019 and await to see Gen 2 (if the Stinger survives).

I read one report that the quilted seats are for the Korean market only, at least initially.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
So all of our mods SHOULD work for the 2021. If that's the case I'm upgrading!

Personally, I dislike the new taillights (which seems like the biggest cosmetic change). I much prefer the present ones.

Based on how they late they are putting out the mid cycle refresh (2022 for US), they might be giving this the premium vehicle treatment and making the life cycle 7 years instead of 5. This would be good if they also do things like adding in versions with appearance/sport package kits, performance versions, interior seating options, i.e. sportier seats or both front seats with similar functionality and memory seats on the passenger side. In addition, this car should also have express up/down windows on all 4 doors.

They should also work on adding aluminum parts to make it lighter and tune that 3.5T to deliver a RS6/M5 level of performance, by the time the 7 year is coming to a close and have something even better int eh wings for the 2nd gen.

Do you garage that lady? I have a 2018 but haven't had the problem yet. I'll be eyeballing that. All the other chrome shit will be replaced with carbon fiber parts when they start looking raggedy.

I really don’t understand how Kia would even begin to believe that these minor changes outside and inside would increase sales. Now, replacing the 2.0 with a 2.5 engine may get them something. I would trade my 2.0 for one in a heartbeat (if I find another job first, lol).

Covid take your job?

Sorry to hear. I agree pricing is very important regardless of the “value” compared to other cars. Selfishly I hope the Stinger survives but doesn’t become a hit seller. I like owning cars that feel exclusive or limited. If I wanted to just blend in with the masses I would have gone BMW/Audi/Charger/Challenger/Camaro/Mustang. That’s what I enjoyed about my MazdaSpeed 3 12 years ago. My neck of the country all those cars and even more luxury car brands are a dime a dozen. I can count more Aston / Bentleys / Mazis / and Porches in a 30 minute drive and never see another Stinger. To me that’s the value.

The Stinger will always be what it is today and into the future. There are only a handful of people that will give the brand a chance, people like us. And it's proven to be rewarding with the driving experience and the great online community we have here.

Majority will buy a German vehicle for same price, with a much smaller engine, smaller space and less tech and comfort features. They will feel just as proud because the are driving the badge that they have been wanting for so long.

Until of course, one of us zoom pass them in our Stingers.

Yep. Too much of the world lacks substance. Almost felt like an outcast when getting introduced to the JB4. Some probably know why lol. The whole Kia stigma is alive and well. Which has sent me on a mission to gapplebees.

Yep, from home to work, it is in an indoor garage most of the day. KIA should have some sort of factory tune for the Stinger, that's a missed opportunity here. With the aftermarket industry stepping up and making parts, this makes it a good buy for those wanting to tune the car for better performance.
