2021 Stinger more details

In none of the interior pictures I have seen does it indicate that this will come a full digital dash. Does anyone know for sure that it will? Would be a shame if it doesn't considering it's one of Kia's high end cars.

It will not be a full digital dash. That is confirmed. Personally I still prefer the analog gauges. The slow refresh rate of some displays can make the speedo and tach look choppy. For those gauges I still think analog is the way to go especially when we have the speedo readout available in the digital heads up display.

So far at least for Korea based model update from 3.5" monochrome to 4.2" multicolor with analog gauges. Higher trims keep the 7" color display in the middle of analog gauges. I would be supprised that this will not be also the case internationnaly.

Anyway in general I do prefer the look and function of analog but of course that are some nice capabilities a full digital have that analog can't match such as having full different display based on the drive mode, have other gauge instead of RPM/ Speed etc.

I have tried a few cars with full digital display like the new BMW 330I and I had mixed feelings. So far hybrid digital / analog are still the best of both word to me when implemented correctly. Stinger implementation is ok but the addition of a digital layer at the bottom instead of just the middle would be nicer.

There is also the blindspot camera that shows up when merging/making a turn. It's just hard to imagine that a full digital display will not be in your premium car while it is available in your mid-tier models?? It should at least be an option!

"I have tried a few cars with full digital display like the new BMW 330I and I had mixed feelings" I think Audi probably implements this the best!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Based on how they late they are putting out the mid cycle refresh (2022 for US), they might be giving this the premium vehicle treatment and making the life cycle 7 years instead of 5. This would be good if they also do things like adding in versions with appearance/sport package kits, performance versions, interior seating options, i.e. sportier seats or both front seats with similar functionality and memory seats on the passenger side. In addition, this car should also have express up/down windows on all 4 doors.

They should also work on adding aluminum parts to make it lighter and tune that 3.5T to deliver a RS6/M5 level of performance, by the time the 7 year is coming to a close and have something even better int eh wings for the 2nd gen.
I don't think the stinger will be around for 7 years.

If the USDM FL G70 doesn't get the upgrade to the 2.5T, could be telling that (1) the cost of doing the upgrade wasn't worth it due to an all-new G70 being around the corner and (2) Kia will extend the life-cycle of the Stinger (even if ultimately, they don't go ahead with a 2G model).

Kia did more upgrades for the Stinger refresh - from adding ambient lighting to something as seemingly innocuous as switching to a frameless rearview mirror.

More pictures of MY21 Europe Stinger.

Interior is different from Korea, seat are not quilted but still a new stiching patern that fit better with the new door panel stiching.
Also new black interior with red stiching and seat belt. Cup holder cover like in Korea.

And new Ascot green color which looks very nice!

I checked out the New Zealand product page... and it looks like once again Kia are stupidly gimping the car in various markets. Where is the gorgeous diamond quilted interior? WTF, Kia?

I agree it should be an option even if I like equally the new European, Australian, New Zealand seats vs the Korean diamond quilted.

The new seats in red are stunning (picture from Australlian member reversed picture to put the steering on our side)1.webp

I think you should just move on to something else. Kia will never make a Stinger that ticks all of your boxes. You'll always find another reason not to buy one.

Have you considered buying something cheaper and customizing it to your liking? Even a used Stinger, perhaps?

Regional spec differences on a global platform are definitely a head-scratcher. I'm sure there's a spreadsheet somewhere on a bean counter's computer that predicts what options are most profitable for each region.

Options that affect emissions and fuel economy make sense due to local regulations, but many of the other differences make no sense from a outsider's perspective.

I guess this is where the aftermarket has to fill the gap. Unfortunately it's almost always more expensive or made from shitty chinesium.

Sure. But the KIA is backwards. :P

I work at Kia and I’m planning on getting the new GT2 when it comes out. No did oral dash yet just a larger 11.5 inch screen. But they will have a CARBON FIBER EXTERIOR PACKAGE!!. That looks sick to me

First thing Kia needs to do, IMHO, is make something like the ECS10 (maybe in more limited form) built-in to the settings. To me, there's little noticeable difference between "soft" and "sport" settings of the suspension. With the ECS10, I can get WAY more range. Maybe they can't do it that extensively for warranty purposes, but giving us 3-5x the adjustibility, especially some pre-defined "snow, bumpy, smooth, track, super-sport" type settings would be a huge improvement.
