2021 Kia Stinger refresh: changes and photos

To me the big news is highway drive assist. Adds L2 autonomous driving. This makes it a very compelling highway commuter.

I agree that for a GT car which is meant to be driven long distances the addition for LFA (Lane Follow Assis) and HDA (Highway Driving Assist) is very welcome. The current LKA is doing its job (most people desactivate it) but not meant for self driving!

In Quebec it is not really a problem to adjust to highway speed because they are all the same but when doing a long drive in the US you often move from 55, 65 and 75 mph max speed so having the car adapting to that can be a ticket saver.

Wonder if the bi-modal exhaust can be retrofit?

Im sure it will be for the low low price of $3000...

Way better off with something aftermarket.

I don't like how the side markers no longer flow into the new tail light design. Why bother having the red strips on the side if they abruptly end in clear light?

Also, what is the obsession with connecting the rear lights? I don't like that trend. Most manufacturers are doing it now, even the Honda Civic has a rear light bar. This just makes the Stinger look more like a Civic from the rear.

The huge tail pipes look stupid and the mesh around them is annoying to clean.

The quilted seats and door panel stitching look nice, as does the added ambient lighting strip behind the 10.25" display, which is also nice. No digital dash though in that video.

The latest 911 rear light bar looks amazingly good!

Wait until you hear the new Mercedes exhaust tips! (i.e. huge and fake)

I am pretty sure this time it will be included with GT2 package in USA and Limited package in Canada. For Korea they have

2.5 Turbo Platinum (about 32k USd)
2.5 Turbo Masters (about 35k USd)
3.3 Turbo Masters (pretty much same spec as the 2.5 but the engine) (About 39K USD)
3.3 Turbo Masters with "Turbo Package" (About 43k USD)

The Turbo package add electronic variable exhaust valve, electronic control suspension, red caliper Brembo brakes, head-up display, 360 degrees surround view, and Lexicon audio.

So if they follow the same pattern in North America GT2 and Limited trims should have the variable Exhaust but the base GT should not have the variable Exhaust.

I believe a factory fitted variable Exhaust is ideal because for light “modders” they can do Intake / JB4 or Intake / JB4 + Secondary or resonator delete and have a pretty decent setup. For more involved “modders” the aftermarket solutions will probably be able to connect to factory vacuum / factory ECU managed and avoid additional OBD2 solution or buttons to control the valves!

All this is ideal for a drone free setup. MBRP is nice but tame if you keep every other exhaust component stock but as soon as you start deleting cats or resonators to get more sound out they start to drone.

He said retrofit. So buy from Kia and install on a previous gen car.

In the dark they are ok. I still prefer the current design. When these are not lit up they make the car look narrow and don’t flow with the side markers.
