Hello All,

I would like to introduce myself to everyone! I live in San Antonio, TX and have been into racing and modifying and racing cars for almost 25 years. The Stinger is the second turbo car (well, actually, my wife just bought the 2020 Soul GT Line Turbo) that I have owned. My fist turbo car was a, 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST, that I bought new and ultimately built into a 500 front whp "parts-breaking" machine. If anyone is familiar with the 4G63 motors that were part of the DSM cars it was a fun platform to modify.

I have had my Stinger for a little over a week and I can truly say I don't have any regrets with my purchase. I love the torque of the twin turbo V6 and Kia has done an amazing job with the overall balance that the Stinger provides the driver. My purchasing decision came down to the Stinger and a Charger 392 Scat Pack. Between the two, I could feel the engineering difference of the Stinger during the test drives of the two cars. The Charger is probably the car I would have chose if I were younger but being a little older now I wanted more of a balance of performance and the driving experience. To me, the Stinger was the choice. From what I have been reading the n54 is a great platform that doesn't take much to make it a lot faster. I am sure in the near future there will be some mods going on such as a JB4 tune, intakes, and exhaust to start. Looking forward to getting involved in the forums and learning from everyone!

Welcome aboard, Keith! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger GT! Those DSM’s were so impressive. They’re legendary. As for the JB4, it’s a very well-liked modification. I’m glad you found us!

welcome to the family. congrats on your stinger, nice color choice. and you and I are similar in taste, I also have a challenger 392 scatpack since the mrs appropriated the stinger as her own so I can attest to the difference quite easily.

Why didn't I think of trying to talk the wife into the Charger instead of the Soul? o_O

4g63t (six bolt) all day baybay

So true! Even though I didn't have the dreaded crankwalk in my 2g, I still went with the 1g 6 bolt crank when I built the motor.

the soul is a great car. the mrs was looking at the orange soul+ when we were looking for a replacement to her nismo. we looked at the stinger, a gt2 in pearl white when the trailer rolled in with the sunset yellow on the back. we bought it right there and then, even though she had taken the test drive and was already imagining upgrades for the soul. she didn't like the charger because she didn't want to drive a rental car, her words or a cop car, also her words. as for talking your mrs into a charger, from a performance standpoint, the stinger is better on gas, the interior is far superior and it does not look like anything that you will see coming at you down the road. either way, you have chosen a phenomenal car in the stinger, and if you do want the charger, it the coming months, the prices will drop immensely, even with the resale value being higher in the charger than the stinger (at the moment)

Howdy and welcome. Modders are the most active demographic on the Stinger Forum. So, you'll be in good camaraderie. :D:thumbup:

I really like the Soul, especially in GT Turbo trim. It is a fun and quick car to drive. I wasn't expecting it to be as quick as is it and it's setup to handle speed. On the highway, I sped up to pass a car and it hit 95mph with ease and it didn't even feel we were going that fast. I am happy with the Stinger and enjoyed driving it more then the Charger. I told myself that I wasn't going to mod this car but the more I read about what can be done to our cars I may have to break the promise. I guess it's in my blood not to leave anything stock!:D

Welcome to the hive!
