2019 Stinger GTS. New Owner here.

It kind of seems like a waste for Kia to develop this D-AWD thing to only be used on a few hundred cars. I'd bet money that it becomes an option on non-GTS Stingers in the future.

Wow, sorry, you're correct! There are RWD GTS'. So strange. View attachment 29674

I'm probably wrong, actually. That article is probably wrong as well. Kia is notorious for putting out bad info for new models.

A search on Autotrader reveals 87 Orange Stingers in the country. None are RWD. And none are 2020s.

Maybe 2019 GTSs are all AWD and 2020 GTSs will be available in either?

The Fed Orange GTS is like a probe for response, I think: reaction to it is the final decision maker on 2020 offerings. And if the GTS D-AWD gets snapped up, that indicates that the color as well is going to be popular. We can expect to see 2020 Fed Orange GTS (in RWD and D-AWD). And D-AWD offered across the GT line; or possibly the D-AWD optional on all trims.

The Orange is supposed to be limited to a small amount like the yellow is. It better not become a regular color. I will be pissed off.

So, question. My paperwork says, 'The Stingers Drive Mode feature integrates with D-AWD and provides three selectable modes: Comfort Mode, Sport Mode and Drift Mode.' Does that mean in Eco, Custom or Smart its not AWD?

I think it means Comfort, Sport and "Sport-plus". :D When you go through the launch control setup procedure, the D-AWD now sends 100% power to the rear wheels: in the normal AWD, launch control never sends less than 20% to the front wheels.

You'll still have that cool "GTS" badge, though. :D

I have my 2003 Mustang Cobra for drift mode so I won’t miss it on my GT AWD but I assume it’s probably just a software update away from having the same drift mode as the GTS. However, I do think the Stinger badge in the back is way cooler than my Kia badge

Dr J, you really should start using the "reply" button directly under the posts you are replying to. Otherwise no one has any idea who your posts are replying to.

I feel that you need atleast 4-5 more arrows. Your image is really unclear...

I feel like that's incorrect. Are you sure it was a GTS? Was it orange? Because I've seen some people throw a "GTS" badge on their Stingers when it's a normal one.

Edit: Nevermind, forget I wrote this lol

It was a GTS. The Monroney sticker said 2020 GTS RWD. I will take a picture of it tomorrow.

Saw a gts at a local dealer tonight. Didn't pay attention to year but was a rwd. Priced at $45xxx. Was parked to the side and not on their website so must have just come in

. . . that comes is two versions-
  1. RWD
  2. AWD (D-AWD).
I haven't found a GTS AWD version without D-AWD.
I like your avatar. I'm getting a front license plate holder that says' "Floats Like A Butterfly...Stings Like A Bee" for my GTS. The Federation Orange paint reminds me of the orange color on a Monarch butterfly.

Jimmer...I believe it's AWD in all the selectable modes except in Sport mode when you turn off traction control and electronic stability control. To keep it in the selected gear in drift mode then you have to have the shifter in manual.

I must say, as much as I enjoyed driving my 2018 GT2, this GTS just feels better when driving. I feel better in turns and it just seems to react sharper. Probably in my head, but it seems like a noticeably better driving experience (and I loved the driving experience of the GT2)

Do you also notice, what I am calling the head turning experience? I see it many times during the week. And I get asked about the Stinger GTS quite a bit. Someone told me I could be a salesman for the Stinger because of my knowledge and enthusiasm for the car.
