I think you’ll find most of the “long time” forum members are owners of the first year out model... myself included. There was a time when first year model cars were quite questionable and gamble... This was when automobile manufacturers didn’t have/utilize the engineering resources available this day and age. Much of the testing now is done “virtually” often before field work is accomplished. My 2018 is AOK thus far. No generation one woes for me.....
My advice, try and find one that wasn’t abused as a tester with a bunch of miles on it. Many test drivers invoke the “drive it like you stole it” system then purchase a same model car that wasn’t a demo. Worse, is the dealer “pet car” they use for a bit, then sell. Good luck on your decision. db
PS. the 2019 US models DO have some features excluded from the 2018’s.... so if those are more important than the cost savings, may want to choose accordingly.
