yep, that's the confusion, build 2018 my19, the build 2019 my19 are technically here sop I found out, but not allowed to be sold until all the 2018 builds are gone they reckon April.

So other than the month of the build there is no difference. Build 2018 MY19 (built after June/July 2018) is no different to build 2019 MY19. They’ll be saying April because we are only in late February so anything built in January or February 2019 probably isn’t even off the boat yet. As long as it’s MY19 it’s an upgrade on your original MY18
A boat from Korea unloaded at Brisbane a few days ago and then Port Kembla and is currently in Melbourne. Don't know how many Stingers were offloaded but think they would all be 2019 build.

No difference until you go to sell or trade it, then dealers will call it a 2018 model or 2019 I so they can get it cheaper.
For example mine is an MY18 but built in Oct. 2017, therefore they would tell you it’s a 2017 model which would push the trade price down, then they would try to sell it used using the term MY18 on the sell sheet, therefore conning the unsuspecting into thinking its a 2018 model.
This whole MY & build date thing is confusing to the uniformed.
He should just get the 2018 built MY19. There’ll be another flood in QLD at some point or hail or a cyclone and falling trees. Every summer we seem to have a 1 in 50 year (or 1 in 100 year) storm hit the QLD coast. It gives the media something to do for a week instead of dribbling about those dithering idiots in Canberra.
It can just be replaced on insurance again. If it wasn’t for the hassle of having no car while they stuff about it would be pretty good to have a new one every 2 years provided by insurance.
Knowing my luck if mine is ever written off it’ll be just after the new for old replacement period finishes
Yes, everything we’ve all pointed out already. The MY year is the manufacture year and runs the same as the financial year so anything built from 7/18 onwards is MY19.

You have a MY19? the dealer told me that there were none in the country until April? is that not correct? I need the car urgently and although they said they could replace with a MY19, i can't wait that long need it now (my work car)
