Yeah, I don't consider the Stinger to be a compact car. But at least JD Power acknowledges that it's a premium car and a performence car.

It also considers the S5 and A5 to be compact too.

I guess the impressive part to me is which cars were considered for the award and the fact that the Stinger won it.

^ That and the 4 Series GC are tweeners, several inches longer than their compact 4-door counterparts.

In addition, JDP counts the tweener Q50 and the FWD MKZ and ES as compacts (the latter sharing a platform w/ the Avalon).

So, like many publications, what is considered a compact is more based on the segment's price range.

Since the survey is based on consumer questionnaires, fess up, which of you compromised the Stinger's safety rating? I mean, a convertible got a higher rating on safety?!

To me, it's about the cars they compared the Stinger to. And that the Stinger won.

Shocking? Why would it? JD power is crap. I have driven enough cars I trust my own experience over numb nuts at JD powers. Hey 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera didn’t get award either. Boo hoo. I’m going to cancel my order. ...not.

If you need somone other than yourself to assess a car I’d recommend Chris Harris or guys over at EVO. They are real enthusiasts not industry hacks.

Yeah I am wondering why Evo UK and Chris Harris did not even reviewed the Stinger yet.... Maybe its a KIA? Have not seen any of the videos or maybe I overlooked...
