This seems to be a forgotten thread according to the date, but wanted to add a where am I now with my 2.0 2019. Currently at 34k miles, I am still running the Racechip RS in mode 6 with factory gapped plugs on 93 only octane. No problems. I've been getting my oil changes through Valvoline drive thru service to avoid having to remove my Racechip. I realized that the Blank block that racechip included allowed me to have car back in normal mode without removing wiring, etc. Because the blank is smaller than the module, I only had to push the part down past my windshield washer reservoir. No problems at dealership. Anyway, with chip back in with only the K & N drop in filter and car fully broken in.....everything was as I wanted. There were times that a Charger R/T would try to pull away and I was right on his heels. I never got to Dyno or Track because I was satisfied with what I had performance wise. A trip to the Tennessee mountains last Summer netted 36 mpg on the highway there! Plus the hatch swallowed my families luggage like a champ. The only issues I was seeing was a pause/hesitation at WOT, plus I couldn't get launch control to work at all after numerous attempts and getting Launch Control on the display. I thought about a short ram air intake and saw a video on Wind Booster throttle controller and wanted it badly. They never responded to my email and messages. I then decided to go with the Racechip XLR. Surprisingly, the XLR throttle controller fixed my Launch Control issue and more. Yes, the controller does not give you more power, but gives you access to it a lot sooner. WHAT I DIDN'T READ IN ANY ARTICLE OR POST....INCLUDING RACECHIP is that the XLR works in between gear shifts and shortens the gaps. I did not expect this and made this well worth the price of admission! Wow! What Racechip was right about was pairing the 2 together (Racechip and XLR).

Continued......The XLR in my opinion is designed the best of the throttle controllers. The others offer different modes with a bunch of numbers within each mode. Who is going to want to select Sport mode and then say I prefer number 4 of 9. XLR makes it simple. ECO + and ECO (which I would have used on Tennessee trip), Normal, Sport, Sport +, Race and Race+. Some critics complained that after awhile, you eventually get use to it and the difference is gone. This is why I leave it in Sport +.....so when I want the edge for passing, etc....it's a quite flip to Race+. Second best Mod out there in my opinion! My 2.0 is a beast with only the Racechip RS, K & N drop in filter and the Racechip XLR. Nasty is a better term for the performance I am getting. Launch Control spins the rears and once they bite.....the car goes. I've done timed 60 dashes and average 5.5 seconds. I don't see other Stingers during my hour commute to work but had a 2.0 pull up to my right rear side to examine me. I recently added the large Stinger script in Black to the middle of my trunk (My car is White with Sun and Sound pkg). His was white as well with Silver Stinger script on middle of trunk with the old small script still on the left side.....odd). I also added the GTline badge to where the GT badge would be. Anyway, as I gave a friendly wave happy to see another Stinger in about a month, the driver seemingly subbed his nose at me and accelerated ahead. After thinking about what just happened, I decided to catch up and went into far right lane 4 lanes in our direction.
The driver changed lanes and took off. Well I had already switched car to Sport Mode and the XLR to Race+.....and that was that! Within a minute, he was fading in my driver side mirror trying to catch up as my car surged like crazy and speedometer climbed fast. That driver never knew what hit him. The next day, I was merging from an on ramp behind a Lexus GS 350....who accelerated to pull away in front of me. They changed lanes to pas a car and I decided to follow. At this point, I now knew they were attempting to show off. With all my settings on Nasty, I walked that Lexas down and had to let off of the throttle while they were still going full steam. I eventually eased up more as they continued to speed off. I am certain that their rear view mirror image of a Stinger closing in will be etched in their mind for awhile. In closing, this car is performing well above factory. Someone even mentioned that the 2.0 can be modified to increase performance percentage wise more than the 3.3. I am considering a Short Ram intake and exhaust further down the road. In all....with my current performance and good looks....there isn't a drop of GT remose.

P. S. The XLR in Sport+ with car in Comfort mode is similar to having car in Sport mode without the XLR....so at startup....the car defaults to Comfort.....the XLR is in Sport + (XLR stays where you left it) and the XLR becomes a worth while purchase.

Do you find the gearshifts as smooth as stock, especially when accelerating hard? Or are they rather rough and jerky?

what’s your average MPG and your city MPG look like after the racechip and everything. I’ve seen dozens of things on the tuning devices but never the MPG or drivability aspects

My stock gearshifts seemed ok, but it feels as if the XLR improved the shifts in between each gear nicely......especially when the car's mode is in Sport. The XLR is a must have if you ask me. I hoping my work mates with the R/T and 5.0 don't know about them. I only expected the Throttle Controllers (XLR in my case) to come into play only from a stop. When the car is in Sport mode and XLR is in Sport +, Race or Race+.....it seems as if the shifts are more seemless.

My City mpgs with Racechip saw an improvement only with car's mode in Comfort or Eco..... 26 to 31 with mild traffic. My problem was I couldn't keep my cars's mode out of Sport.....until the XLR. With car in it's default Comfort mode and XLR in Sport +.... It's like having the car's mode in Sport. Since I got the XLR during the Covid 19 Pandemic, traffic has been nonexistent. My commute is an hour a day. I originally got 3 trips back and forth to work on a tank of gas. Now I get an extra half a trip. The biggest mpg gains on the Racechip is on the highway. Hope this helps.

My commute is an hour to work and an hour back home. My traffic before the Pandemic was heavy both ways. This was part of the reason I didn't get the GT.

Thank you very much, William. Actually, I was wondering about the effect of the Racechip tuning box rather than the Racechip XLR on the gear shifts... does the increase in torque cause the gear shifts to feel notchy and jerky?

The Racechip didn't seem to have any effects on the gearshift.....positive or negative. Only the barely noticeable turbo lag that felt the same with or without the Racechip.

I've read another post regarding catback exhausts for the 2.0. I am close to getting one after doing extensive research. I am looking for power gains with a little extra rumble.......no rice or excessive drone. Looking to stay under $1200. Of course there are more choices for the 3.3. For the 2.0......i am leaning towards the Magnaflow. Cheaper alternatives are the OBX and Maximizer (ARK and Jun BL are more expensive). I will get the car Dyno'd after the exhaust. Will also post before and after vids of sounds once done. Has anyone added an OBX or Maximizer catback to the 2.0?

I have the magnaflow catback and recommend it, however I will warn you that you won't get just "a little extra rumble" as it's considerably louder than stock. Your neighbors will hear you coming and going and probably even idling in your driveway. It's not near as loud as a Mustang GT with aftermarket exhaust but you should be prepared. If you read other reviews then you probably know you need to extend the tail pipe either with clamp on tips or welding on an extension to get rid of drone.

Btw, I bought mine from hottexhaust.com - caution they do have a lot of mixed reviews - though I had no issues with my order and they very often run 20% off sales which they did when I bought mine.

I got a Magnaflow system for my old Camaro on Hoyt Exhaust and was cautious then but I also got mine fast and in good shape, I got mine for like 35% off but I got lucky on that sale.

I'm leaning towards the magnaflow but from a few videos I’ve seen on the Maximizer/OBX seem pretty good, little rumble but not a lot but I can’t find any info either on them but they are considerably less expensive and the same diameter plus T304 stainless.

Thanks for the feedback Mandasol and DGambit. I've listened to the MF sound video on the 2.0 and didn't seem that loud, but seeing those resonators......i believe they are as you described. I don't want "neighbors hear me coming" type loud, but was thinking the power gains would be worth it. Any power gains in numbers or from driving with the MF?

@mandasol so I just had a thought, does the magnaflow cat back just seem pretty loud because of the stark contrast from the stock system basically being silent. Kind of like low whispering then speaking normal kind of comparison if I’m explaining it right.

No it's definitely louder than any stock exhaust including the stock 3.3. On a cold start in my garage my family says the whole house shakes. Give it any throttle and you can hear it from far away. When I'm driving through my subdivision I coast on idle to try not to disturb my neighbors. Go WOT and on full boost and you can hear it a mile away.

I just had a custom catback install (Street Demon). Sounds like what Mandasol described on the Magnaflow. I too have to cruise at low throttle once in the neighborhood. I get nice popping pounds when I let off throttle or downshift. Overall sound is a little louder on the outside than what I was looking for, but drone on inside is horrible. I can see that the pipes fall even or just short of the built-in quad tips. Guessing the drone is similar to the effect you get if you only rolled down the back windows at highway speed. I will have to go back to get them extended further.
