Borla Exhaust for Kia Stinger

I originally bought some flowmaster hp2 mufflers for my stinger and the drone is awful, it vibrates the entire car. I got so tired of this so I purchased the borla system and its on backorder. Am I still going to get that interior vibration and drone with the borla system?

There was never any vibration type drone, I have experienced that unpleasant drone in other cars before- No, nothing like that. And it never was a long extended noise (I hate calling it drone). I heard it described as the motor comes "on the pipe", a harmonic noise that I thought was sweet but too much of. So I kinda followed Sarge and others damping and sound-proofing my Stinger. Between the sound work and the exhaust mellowing, I get more complements than any car I owned before. I love it and do not regret the purchase- but it took a few hours of easy work making my car right for it.

EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE. To me the Stinger is not the car for an obnoxious LOUD exhaust, the Borla is not that type loud, by any means.
I probably made the Borla noise level appear worse than it was. The LOUD that bothered me was the dB level that reverberated into the cab as you aggressively ramp the rpms through 1900-2400 or so. The motor then is really happy, as is the driver when pushing it. But this exhaust really was not loud outside, sounds pretty exotic (as others often say). I say it pairs up well with MY Stinger.

Be ready to do a little sound control work around the spare tire housing, I think this work made mine very pleasant. Nothing rattling...
It is still LOUD when I push the LOUD pedal... Not TOO LOUD

Is it a lot of drone or a little, on a scale of 1-10 I get about a 7-8.
If 1 is you can barely tell it even exists and 10 is you have to have the radio cranked to 80% to hear the words of a song...then I’d say it’s a 3 or a 4.

Borla is not that bad.I lined hatch floor with dyno mat . It helped a lot . All these 4 and 6 cyc engine get a drone at certain rpm. I can cruise on highway and still have normal conversation.

Realistically I was planning on dynamat with the stock setup.... I figure the added material would help road noise primarily.

Nice video!

A tip for anyone else doing an exhaust install: put a little soap and water in a spray bottle and spray the rubber hangers. They come off really easily that way. That'll save ya a couple of minutes.

Good thought, as you saw a little tug and pull in his effort to get it released. Better to do the exhaust exchange early before any rust starts happening later in the future ;)

I used some KY His/Hers...figured the Stinger should get some enjoyment.

Are we talking the same exhaust pipes here?:D

How does the borla sound with downpipes? I’m trying to deside between the borla and ark. My car already has the jun downpipes installed and I’m worried the borla might be a little loud around town. I want something that’s not loud at light rpms around town but sounds good with some throttle.

I have jun b down with borla exhaust I love it sounds great. I put dinomat down in entire trunk area. It’s not super loud but you know it’s there.

Car picks up a lot of torque and hp getting rid of the flat small piping.

Absolutely love the way the Borla sounds on mine. As someone said above, it is loud inside, but it isn't what I would describe as drone. It doesn't have the frequency to it. I lined my trunk with sound deadener, as well. Bought 36 sq. ft. off of Amazon. WAY more than I needed, but I haven't tried to take it under the rear seats yet. Undecided if it even needs it. -Plus, that stuff is relatively heavy and it's just dead weight.
