Denso 5346s and gap them to 0.022". The electrodes are thick so gapping them in a bit tricky. I'll post a how-to-gap video next week. :)
just got me me in the mail, where can i find that video? also do i need to purchase other wires for my jb4 & rev3, i read something about fuel wires somewhere?

@Terry@BMS I don’t think I’ve seen this posted, but does the engine need to be turned off to switch maps? Thanks!

It's in the instructions actually. It says to press the start button twice with foot off the brake.

You can do it ignition on engine off if you want, engine running, or even while driving. Just be sure to follow all smart phone vehicle safely laws with the hands free mounting and such. :)

Thanks!

terry@bms do i need oil catch cans for the gt2 and jb4? 1 or 2 catch cans? denso plugs vs hks?

Don't know yet. We're looking in to it. :)

@Terry@BMS I have another random question for you! Is there a guide somewhere that tells what all of the abbreviations mean for the gauges in the app? Like AFR or IAT for example. Thanks!

FYI: I heard back from Burger Motorsports sales that JB4 is not available for sale within California at this time due to California's emissions regulations. I will need to confirm that Lap3 and RaceChip are available.

We've submitted the paperwork but until approved won't ship to CA as it's illegal to do so.

Any update as to when you will have approval to ship to CA?

On another thread I posted that my dyno test using a Dynapack on my RaceChip in the highest Map setting using 101 Octane was 19.5 PSI and a few members commented that boost that high could be an issue for the turbos. I posted that question back to RaceChip support and they will discuss with their engineers. My dyno test reported that stock PSI is about 14 PSI, given that, and looking at your PSI increase at Map 2, 3, 5, and 7, boost pressure for these maps can range anywhere from as much as 19 to 21. I know you published this several months ago, but assuming this data is still valid, does this mean that you don't see any issue with running boost on the turbos as high as 21? Or in order to run boost that high, other mods are required?

I’m going to answer the boost question, actually getting 21 lbs of boost from these turbos is BAD for longevity. ~19 should be the peak before the stock Turbo is just being pushed too hard.

Most of the 21psi guys are running upgraded FMIC, downpipes, intakes.... at the bare minimum you should be spaying some water/methanol injection if you don’t have any of the other mods if you are planning to run boost that high daily.

HUGE: Do not pay too much attention to brief boost spikes look at the boost is actually holding through the run. Most are going to HOLD the safer 19psi.

@Terry@BMS if I already have a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle (ELM327) do I still need the Bluetooth add-on to flip from Map0 to Map1?

Anyone know if Burger offers a forum discount?

Appreciate the details. I heard back from RC support who checked with their development that the max PSI I’m seeing of 19.5 should be ok without any other mods which is inline with your statements. With that being said I would like to see boost pressure for the various Dyno test on the Burger Motorsport site for the Stinger therefore I reached out to sales and Terry for that info. In addition to that, I can’t find the BMS intakes for sale for the Stinger on the site. I reached out to sales for that as well. Since Terry has not responded to your latest Q, it appears he may be on leave for the Thanksgiving holiday.

I’m not sure I’m interested in going the WMI route as that sounds messy and I would have to look into how your would purchase the mixture that flies into the take and what the cost of that would be. I might be mistaken, and I will confirm from the manual, but I thought there was mention that E85 should not be used.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Found the quote in the Stinger manual. Anyone using E85 and have you run into any issues? Does this provide higher performance then runnning let’s say 98/100/101 octane? It would be interesting to see Dyno test with various higher level octanes to see if they have impact on HP/Torque. After further thought and thinking about the comment made in regards to not exceeding 15% ethanol, given we have approximately a 15.9 gallon tank, if you only use two gallons E85, then unless my math is failing me you would be at less than 15% ethanol.

"E85" fuel is an alternative fuel comprised of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, and is manufactured exclusively for use in Flexible Fuel Vehicles. “E85” is not compatible with your vehicle. Use of “E85” may result in poor engine performance and damage to your vehicle's engine and fuel system. Kia recommends that customers do not use fuel with an ethanol content exceeding 15%.

The E85 mixtures become possible with the tuning/fuel wires from my understanding. It has a lot to do with fuel pressure and pump strengths.

Running 30/70 WMI is quite simple. That mixture is available in most windshield wiper fluids around -20* varieties that DO NOT contain glycols.
