KIA Stinger VS Dodge Charger SRT

Wow, the Dodge even had a couple mods and still couldnt pull it off.

What was that ugly "cloud" of plastic limiting forward view?

This feels really weird: like the whole world suddenly started speaking in Arabic!?

What info do we have? Is the Stinger modified as well? Is it RWD? Etc.

Cool video, thanks for sharing.

You are welcome.

yeh, I have the same impression, very pleased that Stinger has the advantage against a slightly modified 6.4L V8 car!

This is the protective plastic bag that comes with newly delivered cars. Some people don't remove it for some reason.
Also the placement of GoPro was not in the optimal position to get the POV scene of the race, but I have noticed by watching the older videos on that channel, they are trying different techniques with ever video .

I guess you are talking about the comment section on YouTube, well, most of the comments are disbelieving that a TT V6 POS KIA is faster than V8 car.
As of the mods of that Stinger, the video description stats it is a stock RWD car.

I guess the plastic bag is a clue that nothing has been done to the car! :D

As for the disbelief: are they saying that the V8 was sandbagging? What, did the Kia driver pay him off or something?

It is more like Dodge driver was clueless and novice than sandbagging.

The Stinger was ahead at the start in the roll race and jumped before the dodge then stayed 1-2 cars ahead for the whole race neither car gaining ground.

There was no video of the start of the dig race. There was obvious sand on the road and I’d imagine the dodge had issues with traction.

I re-watched the video and I've noticed also the Charger at the start of the roll race had downshifted like a couple of gears, which means the engine wasn't at its peak power band and that gave the Stinger an immediate advantage.
Nonetheless, watching the race was a joy, especially the way how the video was filmed from different angels. :)

@Jasem whereabouts was this strip, can you tell? Curious duel freaks are interested to know.

Interesting watch. Something is off, and I will guess the driver...

I will point you here to multiple, confirmed low low 12s bone stock for the SRT on all seasons and some <12 with tires only. So again, something is wrong here. Now if we get multiple confirmed kills with slips, then maybe Ill believe it.

SRT 392 good 1/4 mile?

Well, these are some remote roads in Riyadh where you can see no traffic.
Bystanders are there either to participate or to just watch.
In Riyadh there are 2 racing tracks, 1 is a drag stripe and the other is a racing track for touring cars + Karting. The later is for the "elite" people not for the public sort of track :lipsaresealed:

You are right about the SRT performance wasn't as expected, I believe many factors were against the Dodge in that race.

That's because we don't believe. We know that kind of power will smoke a Stinger. It isn't being driven right, or something else is going on, as posited, the surface could have drifting sand or something like that. That would hurt the RWD car with more power if the driver did not anticipate wheel spin properly. (Here I am talking like I know what i am talking about! I do, theoretically, a little bit, enough to agree that something is up with that duel; the Stinger should lose; not by much, but it can't win a fair head to head duel with that engine.)

I’m not sure I saw anybody making excuses for the Dodge, just explaining how the result of the race happened.

Just like with the videos of the Stinger beating the 18 Mustang GT. Just because it happened once does mean the Stinger is always the faster car. There are a lot of variables in drag racing.
