Hey guys,

Hit the dyno today for a little tuning on our JB4 Stinger! Car is all stock except for Denso 5346 plugs gapped at 0.022", ~93 octane fuel, around 450 miles on the clock.

We're running a Stinger JB4 system on v3 firmware with the JB4 Mobile kit for wireless logging to my phone.

First up was a few baseline runs, the highest of which was 327whp all stock. I've seen cars make a few more HP stock but it was pretty hot today. Doing a same day baseline is always critical for evaluating tuned runs to come. Weather, dyno variance, correction factors, etc, can easily lead to 10-15whp one way or the other.

Next up a series of tuned runs. Map1 resulted in 356whp, map2 resulted in 382whp. More or less as expected. Logs of the runs are below and you can see the boost differences of stock vs. map1 vs. map2, as well as an overall healthy timing profile not showing any indication of knock.

Here are where things got interesting. I turned on the new JB4 fuel control to lean the air/fuel ratio out at higher RPM, and immediately power shot up. See comparison dynos below but going from 10:1 to 11:1 resulted in gains of ~60whp in certain areas! Crazy!

I have a little more fine tuning to do on the fuel control before we release it but next up is a round of E85 testing and dyno runs. And hopefully, cooler weather!

Also on the torque we found there is a lot more on tap when we're ready for it. 495wtq was just scratching the surface.

PS. While the car was strapped down I did a run on valet map4, which runs around half the boost of stock. Definitely makes your 3.3L run like a 2L, lol.

Coming from a 2.0 owner--ouch! o_O What do you think can be done for us lowly 4cyl Stinger owners? ;)

Can I say... Hellz Yes!!!!!!

To say that I am excited is an understatement... I have been logging daily post running the OBD2 cable to the JB4..

How will this update adapt to the intake and exhaust that I have @Terry@BMS?

I expect it will work well together, we'll find out soon enough! lol

The JB4 is 2.0L compatible and while we've sold a few with good feedback, no one has taken it to the dyno yet. If anyone with a 2.0L RWD is local to us and wants half off a tune and a free dyno, email me. :)

Well get V3 going and I will get to logging.. lol..

I will get a Dragy shortly to to track changes

Terry what's the difference between v3 and v2 firmware?

The top end power pick up after leaning it out is excellent, exactly what the car needs! Can't wait for further development with bolt ons!

Lol on the Valet dyno, needs fuel control.

Maps vary by firmware version, but are in roughly the same area. I don't remember previous targets though, you can always datalog the JB4 and look at the "target" trace to see.

Just ordered the JB4! Let the games begin!

Is there a way to verify which version we have installed on our computer?

I'm looking right now and it says interfere version = April 1, 2018. But firmware version is blank.

You have to connect to the JB4 to view your firmware version.

Thanks. Got a link to the V2 Firmware? (or most current version if 3 has been released)

Thanks.

You notice any difference between the two? I'm pretty sure v2 is +1 psi for map 1 and map 2.

Gonna mess with it tomorrow and see if I feel a difference.

Honestly buddy.. I had the JB4 in with the first firmware and had the cracked plug/coilpacks sitting at the dealership for a month thing..

And by the time I had the plugs installed, I went straight to V2 T2.. So I didn’t have any experience comparing the two as I didn’t have much seat time originally.

I also had the exhaust and intakes installed in between the 2 maps..

Dragy is on my radar next so that I can track changes as they relate to timing differences.
