Is the Drive Wise Package Worth it?

I was thinking of getting a Stinger( pretty sure I will get one) and saw some Stingers equipped with the Drive Wise Package for a good price. And I have a few questions.Is the extra $2000 worth it for the Package. How useful is it? Does anyone one ever use it. My dear Stinger experts please weigh in.

I use or depend on all the time: Forward Collision Avoidance or warning systems, Smart Cruise control, Blind Spot warning, Rear Cross Traffic alert.
I use some of the time: High beam assist and Rain sensing wipers
I never use: Any of the lane assist systems. It was a mandatory option for my purchase decision.

If the system saves you from disaster just once, it’s more than paid for itself. I wouldn’t buy a car without it.

Forward Collision Avoidance, Blind Spot warning, Rear Cross Traffic alert are what I would say make it all worth it.

When I did the kia experience in Chicago, I took my stinger to the event. The drivers were checking out my car because they had not seen a panthera metal one yet. One of em goes, "you didn't get the drive wise package did ya" I said No, other driver goes "yeah because he knows how to drive"

Do it! Once my wife got adaptive cruise control, I saw how awesome it was. No adaptive cruise or collision avoidance was a no go for me. Plus, I’d bet your drop in insurance rates will make up some of the difference. My rate went up about $150 a year going from my 2013 Optima SX that was worth about $11k to my $50k GT2 ...

Not worth it to me, the only thing I miss is the blind spot detection, but that's not worth an extra 2K

absolutely worth it. I've been a die-hard anti-technology guy forever. This is the first automatic I've ever owned, but gotta say, for a road car it's worth every penny.

The DriveWise is great because the other guy does not know how to drive.

No matter how great a driver you are, you can't control what other drivers may do.
It was a requirement for me. And I am impressed how well the subsystems work.
You can't really know how valuable these features are until you have them.
These are so important to me that my son was in the market for a new car and I strongly advised him to get these safety features.
Also, you will most likely get much of the cost back when you sell the car and/or it will be easier to sell it.
And as others have added...if it saves you from even one minor accident, it pays for itself.

I hate that package. When I was shopping for a Stinger I refused to pay a single penny for it. Had one dealer wanting to sell the car so bad they agreed to give me the Drive Wise option for free. I told them I didn't want my car constantly beeping at me for no reason (and what do you know, on the test drive the blind spot assist went off just because a car was turning alongside my lane - so annoying). I ended up getting another car without it. I would've just turned it all off anyway.

I agree with pretty much all of the above that the DriveWise features are worth it. However there are two points previously not mentioned you may want to consider:

• Your auto insurance premium might actually be lower on a vehicle with DriveWise than without. I'm not sure if that's true or not for everyone or with all insurance companies, but for it was in my case.
• I think if the car has AWD & DriveWise, it will come with the rather lousy Bridgestone Potenza RE92AS-02's (might just be these on the 2.0T models, not sure.) I wanted all season tires on mine, but I didn't realize how awful these tires are until it was too late. There are some posts on these forums about them.

ha, you guys don't have to convince me it's beneficial, I think it is wonderful. There is no arguing if it's a good feature or not for safety, I wouldn't let my wife get a sorento that didn't have the safety features. At the time I got my stinger I wanted panthera metal, and I wasn't going to settle for another color. Back in Jan there were literally no panthera metals with the drive wise package for sale in dealerships

I'm merely just posting what one of the professional drivers stated, which I found amusing. I'm assuming he wasn't being 100% legitimate.
