Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

basically the settings are stored in a memory that does not get erased when the unit does not have power.

Gotcha, thanks.

Correct. They are suggesting launching using the auto hold feature and not the lauch control in order to achieve a faster time.

To me it doesn't make sense as the point of launch control is to spool the turbos into boost and have max torque at take off. Now I understand that with a modded Stinger the tires might break loose therefore requirering modulating the throttle a bit.

Still yet to be confirmed if using auto hold instead of launch control will actually get you a faster time.

wait what? i thought auto hold would simply hold the brakes? can someone elaborate on how it would work?

Someone posted that he used auto hold to get a better 0-60 time than he achieved with LC.

He says he just used it like normal but slammed on the gas like you would with LC.

hmm interesting, i dont have any accurate way of measuring my times, but definitely feel more power with cat back intakes and jb4(map1) on LC. i dont use LC often though. @Kamauxx didnt you get like a 4.1 before?

Use a dragy to measure the 60' times!

On map 1 with K&N panels I got (if I remember correctly) 4.37 ish. Using the same method with map 2 I got 4.07. Haven't tried it since adding exhaust. But on map 2 traction was an issue so it's conceivable that my time might increase a hair.

....damn im a super newb, idk what that means, lol

It's a GPS box that you put on the dash. It links to your phone via an app and gives you read outs for 0-60, quarter mile, speed, etc.

Much easier than the shit I had to do to get my times.

Learning something new here. What is this Hill stop feature and how do you engage?

It is better known as the Auto hold feature.

Hill Stop/Hold and Auto Hold are not the same thing.

Hill Stop/Hold will automatically engage when the car is at an angle that would cause the car to roll back when releasing the brakes. When engaged the car will hold the brakes until you press the gas. This keeps you from rolling backwards into the car behind you. I think this is a feature that can be turned on off in the dash settings.

Auto hold is similar in that it will hold the brakes after coming to a stop until you press the gas but it will engage on a flat surface like in traffic. It is controlled by the button below the shifter.

They do very similar things but are two different features.

Thanks...so thats what that button does...lol. I'll give it a rip.

IMO, WOT smash with auto hold instead of using LC will strain the transfer cases and things alot. LC helps "tighten" the driveline up before dumping.

For sure. Just haven't figure out how to pitch it to the wife yet.

I've noticed the trans locks you out from brake boosting and launching hard, how annoying! First order of business is to try to find some sort of work around.
