Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

I missed this in the manual and discovered it last night by accident; on the GT2, the headlight's dynamic bending feature is active only if the headlamp switch is on Auto.

I always thought it was odd there was no off button, but they thought of an easier solution.

Oh that sucks! I never use auto!

I just discovered that the lane keep asisstant will automaticly turn off when you hit 200kph / 120mph. It will turn back on shortly after you are below that mark
while I discovered that I hit topspeed at 240kph / 150mph  (indicated ~243kph)

Yeah you lucky thing you have autobahns to test those things out. We limited to 110kmh. Automatic loss of license if over the speed limit by 37kmh or over. Some states you get your car crushed instead:thumbdown::thumbdown:

Oz, the land of extremes. If "they" tried to crush my car or jerk my licence for speeding, there could be violence.

@Schpok: It sounds like the 2.0 is significantly less at the top end than the 3.3 (167 mph, rated). This is the first time I've seen any comparison. Did your engine "top out"?, i.e. hit a speed limiter setting? Or was c. 150 mph simply as fast as it will go? Or do you have the different speed governors on the 18" and 19" wheels like they do over here in the US?

Better not move to GA. Excessive speed can result in a reckless driving charge, which is an automatic suspension, and up to 12 months in jail. VA automatically assigns RD to any ticket 20-over, or over 80 anywhere. They will also give you a RD if you're seen leaving the roadway.

(My best is 155 on the highway - in a 2.0 turbo Talon)

So you're admitting that you live dangerously close to being banned from the roads for life? 155, seriously!?

Well, yeah, if you "leave" the road (as in crashing out of control) that should be a RD charge.

The shape of the windshield's top edge is similar to the grill.
It took me to see a posted photo to realize the glass didn’t go straight across on the top.
Observant is my middle name.

I keep mine in auto and it’s like a little dance to see them moving on the garage wall when I start up. I use the welcome song too.
Oh yes, there is a welcome and goodbye song if you turn it on in the settings. I think Doug D taught me that one.

I don’t know if this qualifies but it’s been a long time since I had this feature on my car. All four side windows roll all the way down. I hadn’t noticed this before I bought the car. It took awhile too. Then one day, say what no edge that didn’t retract into the door? One car I had, forgot which one, left barely a fraction of an inch exposed but it was there.

Also on windows. If you roll the windows halfway down you can see the front two windows are layered and the rear are solid single pane. Sound proofing.

Isn't that only sound proofing done halfway? Why not double pane all the windows? Hmm.

Yeah, yeah!! Rub it in!! Rub it in!! I, also, am TOTALLY jealous of you and your Autobahns!!

So I enjoy using launch control once and a while. I just found out by accident if you leave the traction control and stability control off. Anytime you come to a stop and hold brake and floor it the car goes right into launch control. There is no need to repeat the process over again to use the feature.

That one needs confirmation. Who's up for it?

Someone else in a different thread posted that they saw their 0-60 times drop by a tenth when launching by just mashing the accelerator while using the hill-hold feature (or whatever it's called--my base 2.0 comes w/ an old-school foot activated e-brake) instead of launch control. I'd love to see if anyone else can verify that :)
